And just like that, Captain Charisma moves one step closer to the Intercontinental Championship! I'm here in this tournament to win the whole damn thing. And if you didn't know? Well, now Doug Basham knows.

As I suspected, Jericho was no match for the power of the Bulldog! It will be a glorious day when the WWE Championship comes to the British Isles at long last!

Chris Masters, shame on you! Attacking the referee? WHATSUPWITDAT?! But the fact remains, I won and you lost, and that's the Hurri-truth! And now I can look ahead to Backlash, for on that night, I will become Raw's Super Intercontinental Champion!
I'm just sayin'...

Andre! You may have won tonight! You may even go on to with the WWE title! But sooner or later you and I will meet again in that ring, and I'll show everyone why I am the Best there is! The best there was! And the best there ever will be!

Started simming Smackdown: Eddie vs. Edge is awesome, even in video game form. Rob Conway is boring, even in video game form.

Evolution learned what happens when you go ONE ON ONE WITH THE GREAT ONE! If any team thinks they can stand in Mankind and the Rock's way, well, the Rock says he'll just have to layeth the smackdown on them!
IF YA SMELL...WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKIN!

JBL, I'd be lying if I said I was happy about the result of our match. However, it took three of your power bombs to put me down and I certainly didn't make things easy on you either. Imagine what we could do together. We need American champions. I'm sure you'll take care of Bulldog and Andre at the PPV. If you are hungry for more gold though, you know who to call.

Smackdown, April 5, Kansas City, KansasRise UpLadies and gentlemen, welcome to Smackdown! Michael Cole and Tazz here for the beginning of a new era!Cole, what’s going on here?! All the titles vacated! New rosters, where the hell is Batista?! This is insanity, we need someone to make sense of it all!The Mack MilitantTeddy Long makes his way to the ring. Welcome to the new Smackdown, playas! Tonight, I promise we’re gonna off the hook here, holla!
Now, Mr. McMahon decided to shake things up after WrestleMania, but don’t let getcha down! Because I promise to make Smackdown better than it’s ever been before!
Now, let’s talk about Smackdown’s Championship situation. First of all, there’s the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. And that’s actually pretty simple. Because tonight, we have a triple threat match between Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, and Rob Van Dam, who all meet the weight limit. Therefore, the winner of that match will be the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion!
Next, we’ve got the United States Championship, and that’s simple too! Because the first four matches tonight, will comprise the first round of a tournament to crown the new United States Champion!
Then there’s my favorite… the TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP! And we’ll take care of that on the April 19 Smackdown, when six teams compete in three tag team matches. And the winners of those three matches will face off the following week on Super Smackdown, for the WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP, PLAYA!
Finally, we’ve got the World Heavyweight Championship. And to decide that, there will be a four man tournament next week, with the winners facing off on Super Smackdown for the World Heavyweight Championship! But I was thinking, I wanna do something special to give y’all a preview of the tournament. And y’know, there’s only one way we do it here on Smackdown, so tonight, in the main event, we’re gonna have us a TAG TEAM MATCH!
On one side, John Cena… and Stone Cold Steve Austin. On the other side? Hollywood Hogan….
And The UNDATAKAH, PLAYA!Wow, that’s huge! What a show Teddy Long has set up!You can say that again, Cole! A US Title tourney, a Cruiserweight Championship match, and a huge tag team main event? Move over Raw, the new Smackdown is number one!United States Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match: Carlito vs. Booker TCarlito takes the early advantage with a sucker punch during the staredown. Booker T recovers and the two fight back and forth. Both men try to get the win early with roll-ups, but only get 1-counts. Booker hit’s the Scissors Kick at the 5 minute mark, but Carlito gets to his feet during the Spinaroonie. Carlito keeps slamming Booker to wear down the back, but Booker wins it after a clothesline and stomp to the stomach. Your winner: Booker T United States Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match: Eddie Guerrero vs. EdgeBoth men are evenly matched, trading off chops and reversals in the early going. Eddie fights out of the Edgeucator and the two fight on the outside. Eddie gets a near fall with a small package. Edge regains control with a slam. Eddie fights back with a back suplex, but Edge fires back with an elbow off the top rope. Both men block each other’s finishers, but Edge works the neck. Eddie hits an elbow off the top rope. After more back and forth, Eddie hit’s a frankensteiner off the top, but only gets a 2-count. Edge gets a near fall with the Edge-a-Matic. Eddie plants Edge with the Edge-cution, but both men are down! They get to their feet at 8. Edge plants Eddie with the Edge-cution himself, but both men are down. Edge is up first at 8, with Eddie right behind. Bloodied from the Edge-cution, Eddie finally gets the win with a roll-up. Your winner: Eddie Guerrero United States Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match: Shelton Benjamin vs. Danny BashamThe match begins with a test of strength. Shelton wins, but Basham catches him with a slam as he comes off the ropes. Benjamin takes over with a German suplex. Shelton with a back drop, but Danny tries a roll-up with the tights, but Shelton grabs the bottom rope. Basham takes control using raw power. Samoan drop by Basham, but Shelton scores with a belly-to-belly suplex! Neckbreaker by Danny. Shelton sends Danny to the outside, then hit’s a nice springboard moonsault. Danny counters with a superplex, but Shelton gets the pin with a Samoan drop! Your winner: Shelton Benjamin United States Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match: Robert Conway vs. Paul LondonBoth men trade punches, but London takes control with a series of top rope elbows. London gets a near fall off a bridging full nelson suplex. Conway takes over with a Lou Thesz press, then chokes London in the ropes. London hit’s a hurricanrana, but Conway throws him out of the ring. The two fight outside, but back in the ring, Conway connects with a neckbreaker. London gets a near fall with a small package. Conway with another neckbreaker, but doesn’t go for the pin. London gets a near fall with a hurricanrana. London finally gets the win with a small package! Your winner: Paul London Cruiserweight Championship Match: Shawn Michaels vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Rob Van DamRight from the get go, it’s every man for himself. Rey goes after Michaels, RVD goes after Rey, Michaels goes after RVD. Calling this match a train wreck is being generous. A lot of missed moves in this one, including Rey crashing and burning with a moonsault. Rey does hit the 619 on RVD, but Michaels is right there to break it up. The fight spills to the outside and Rey is busted open by an RVD dropkick. Shawn hits Sweet Chin Music on Rey, but Rey no-sells and low blow’s Van Dam. Shawn then jackknife’s the pin on RVD, but Rey breaks it up… and gets disqualified…? Your winner: Shawn Michaels by disqualification Stone Cold Steve Austin and John Cena vs. Hollywood Hogan and The UndertakerUndertaker and Cena start this star-studded main event. After some back and forth, we get the match-up they’re all dying to see, Austin and Hogan. They trade shots, then the match spills outside, with all four men battling it out. At the three minute mark, Cena hit’s the Five Knuckle Shuffle… on Austin… What is Cena doing?!He’s lookin’ out for numbah one, Cole!Hogan works the neck, then Austin tries to tag out, but Cena hops off the apron. Austin does get the tag, but Hogan has his way with Cena. Austin tags back in and Hogan misses a clothesline in the corner, but Undertaker intervenes and Hogan retakes the advantage. Austin and Cena get the upper hand by punching Hogan, then Austin delivers a back suplex off the top rope! A lot of quick tags, then Hogan drops the leg on Cena! Cena gets back up, tag to Austin. Cena and Austin have a brief staredown, then Austin… gets back body dropped by the ref… What is Brian Hebner doin’, Cole?!…Austin was charging him, so self defense?Undertaker gets Cena in an armlock as Austin just beats on Hogan instead of breaking it up. Austin and Cena just can’t get on the same page!Like Austin says, DTA, Cole.Austin busts Hogan open with a flapjack, then gets the pin! Your winners: John Cena and Stone Cold Steve Austin What a match! And somehow, Cena and Austin got the win!Cena celebrates, but… Oh my god! Stunner! STUNNER!Austin not forgetting Cena trying to screw him over early on, Cole!Oh my! And next week, these four men compete in a tournament to crown the next World Heavyweight Champion, partner? What is going to happen next week on Smackdown?!Austin celebrates with several beers as Smackdown concludes…

WWE.com notes:
Match of the week: Austin and Cena vs. Hogan and Undertaker
Shawn Michaels is apparently the Cruiserweight Champion, despite winning by DQ, but Teddy Long will address that on the next Smackdown.
All three Backlash challengers made the website, and the Rock and Sock/Evolution match was the sleeper match of the week.
Cards for the second week:
Raw, April 8, Madison, Wisconsin Intercontinental Championship Tournament Match: Chris Jericho vs. Gene Snitsky Intercontinental Championship Tournament Match: Kurt Angle vs. Eugene Women’s Championship Match: Joy Giovanni vs. Lita World Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match: The Party Masters(Chris Masters and Doug Basham) vs. The Canadian Bulldogs(Bret Hart and The British Bulldog) JBL vs. Mankind Andre The Giant vs. Triple H
Smackdown, April 12, West Newbury, Massachusetts United States Championship Tournament Semifinal Match: Booker T vs. Paul London United States Championship Tournament Semifinal Match: Eddie Guerrero vs. Shelton Benjamin Chris Benoit and Heidenreich vs. Kane and Sylvain Grenier Rey Mysterio vs. Rob Van Dam World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Match: The Undertaker vs. John Cena World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Match: Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Hollywood Hogan
Plus Teddy Long addresses the controversial ending of the Cruiserweight Championship match.
I'll probably start simming the shows tomorrow, but don't expect them before Monday, since I'll be busy the next few days.

Aw, yeah, looks like the ham got cooked. Now I'm one step closer to the US title. It's only fitting that I win it, after all. Booker T? He may be the five time, five time, five time, five time, five time WCW Champion, but all he's done in WWE are tag belts, and I've been there and then some. Paul London? Nothin' but a small fry. All I gotta do is ground and pound him 'till he can't take no more. Eddie Guerrero? Latino Heat can't compare to the heat he'll be feeling when he All-American African American is done with him. Those fools ain't nothin' but speed bumps to me on my road to the top. It's like I always say, ain't no stoppin' me now.

Yeah, those last two matches were amazing, for just how ridiculous the AI was. Although it worked out well for the main event, since I planned on having Austin stun Cena after the match anyway. Just more fuel for the fire, I say.

I made RVD/Mysterio official for Smackdown. Since I changed my mind on how to handle the title, there's no reason to keep the match secret anymore.

I got the best of Kurt Angle this week and I will be the greatest WWE champion ever once I win that belt. But even the best need allies. So since Kurt Angle asked you will see the alliance form between us. The future WWE champion and the future Intercontinental champion will be riding in the limousine all over the WWE!
Everyone is talking about the match on Smackdown. Even the sumbitch ref was attacking old Stone Cold. But as always the Rattlesnake was one step a head. What? A step a head and next week I'm puttin Hollywood Hogan in the home for good. More stunners for everyone who gets in the way and if John Cena has a problem with that he can come find me.
