You can check out the full list here: www.empireonline.com/301/list.asp?page=1You can browse the full list at the base of the page. I think number 10 might surprise/annoy people. Also there is no criteria here so expect a bunch of recent films.

It's fan voted so I can't get too pissed.
I'm not going to disagree with their number 1. I'll just say that it and number 6, are in a constant battle as to what my favorite movie ever is.

I love #3 but it's too high, and I hate Star Wars so #1 obviously isn't my thing but if the other members of the top 5 had been the top 3 I'd have found it very hard to argue with. Pulp Fiction is my personal favourite of the three but the others are sublime too.

I didn't look through much since right away I noticed Love Actually is considered better than Bicycle Thieves.
This is why fan voting is never taken seriously.

This list is annoying to me. How Iron Man 3 is on here is beyond me. Movie was a big pile of shit. Also, as much as I love The Dark Knight, I know it shouldn't be that high, but maybe more so around the #40-#50 area in my opinion. And The Dark Knight Rises, while I liked it, it shouldn't even be on this list.

The Dark Knight the number 3 greatest film of all time? Are they f***ing serious? I'm as big of a comic book fan as anyone, but I highly doubt I'd have a single comic film in the top ten, let alone that one.

I looked through the rest of the list...and I just have to laugh at it. You might as well get a bunch of kids to give you a list of the best movies ever. So many missing names here...
It's like those commercials saying that 1,000 Ways to Die in the West is the funniest western ever. I don't even need to see the movie to know that it's an incorrect statement. I guess humor is subjective, but the point stands. It seems like people either don't watch enough movies, or any "newer" movies are automatically the greatest thing ever. Sure, we can throw stones at things like Avatar or the Dark Knight, (which if they made the list, should be significantly lower) but other things stood out to me like Hot Fuzz. I mean...I like the movie, but to say it's one of the 300 greatest movies EVER made? Seriously? Come on now.

I think Eyes Wide Shut, King Kong, M, Network, Metropolis and Ben-Hur should have been way higher. There are way too many films that no business being on there to list them all.
Also where is Paths of Glory?

I didn't look through much since right away I noticed Love Actually is considered better than Bicycle Thieves. This is why fan voting is never taken seriously. Well most people doing fan voting are 14-25 year old males so it's not like they've seen thousands of movies and they tastes favor towards the action/comedy/science fiction/horror genre. But ugh Drive in the Top 50? Seriously f*** that movie.

What makes a good movie? What they should have done is broken it down to the top 30 of each genre.

Anchorman is better than Airplane? Forrest Gump is better than L.A. Confidential, Seven and Die Hard? The Lion King is better than Beauty and the Beast? Watchmen is somehow on the list? As are The Crow and Man of Steel? It may be voted for by the public but some of it is laughable.
Although I have to say, I agree with most of the films in the Top 10 (I love The Dark Knight and Inception but not that much) but not necessarily the order.

^ I like The Crow.

As an aside the voting for this allowed the user to only pick 5 films. So to put Man of Steel on a top 5 list boggles my mind.

So much pointless rage at this list. The second I saw Love Actually on there, I already knew the fans had blown it.

Before I read it, I will say I judge how terrible these types of lists by how far away "The Third Man" is from number 1. edit ~ 77? Blergh!

Aside from the "OMG why did this get ranked" beef, I am happy to see How to Train Your Dragon, Her, and Truman Show all rank relatively good. My only real disappointment was the lack of Jackie Brown, Do the Right Thing, or 25th Hour nods. The Lion King is better than Beauty and the Beast? Beauty and the Beast is kind of overrated.
