They would be absolutely stupid if they didn't monetize the Network with advertisers. That said, they certainly won't go over-the-top with ads like they will their content. If you're gonna unsubscribe because you were investing in a purely ad-free WWE Network then that's hilarious. Your loss.

Personally I don't mind occasionals commercials ala Hulu but if its anywhere close to the amount on network tv then I would drop the service

If WWE wants to run ads during live PPVs and stuff like that, I'm completely fine with that. Just please leave the VOD library alone. I really couldn't think of something more off-putting than to watch an old episode of Raw and then see a 2 minute ad for some movie I'm not going to see. Or have the stream fail because the ad won't load.

Meh, if they want me to watch a 30 second spot for Taco Bell before I watch an old episode of Raw, that's not a huge deal to me. And if it keeps the network <$10 then I'm all for it

Surprised so many people are fine with it. If they're gonna run ads then put it on regular TV. Other channels I pay for like HBO and Showtime don't have that crap, that's why you pay for them.

I don't really care if they were to run ads, as long as they would play where it would be normal. If it's like how ABC family ran them during shows a few years ago, I would be annoyed. (Cutting to commercial mid-sentence)

I think people are painting "ads" or "advertisers" with the same brush as "network TV commercials."
WWE would integrate it seamlessly into the Network. It's not like they're going to sandwich in WWE Network ads into RAW replay archives or whatever.

I don't want ads but if helps fixing the damn thing then okay. I mean I am trying to watch this bra and panties gautlet match from 2006 and it keeps stopping every 30secs. What I don't want is 5+ mins of ads. Try watching raw live and it is full of ads I bet it is like 30+ mins of ads.

Wait you mean they don't? Then why the hell am I sitting through promotional consideration of Slim Jim and Judge Dread toys on old Clash of the Champions?

Ads during natural commercials and breaks during the live stream or at the start or end of on-demand stuff, that's fine. If ads start coming up ten minutes, that's not cool. Pretty much this. I've long expected WWE to sell ad space during their livestream.

An idea: Make certain content free, maybe Superstars, Main Event and Pre/Postshows and have ads through it. Paid content remains ad free.

Honestly, I liked when Hulu gave you the option of having a big block of ads at the beginning, then allowing you to watch ad free the rest of the time. I'd be fine sitting through 5 minutes of ads up front to get the rest ad free.

WWE already plugs WWE-related things on the Network at the beginning and end of streams and of course they promote non-WWE things during Raw and PPVs all the time, so Network ads wouldn't be too painful so long as they were kept to a minimum and didn't create even more problems with the streaming. WWE has plenty of old TV episodes where they could insert a commercial or two and it'd feel natural. Possibly even funny, if they plug a 2014 thing during a 1993 Raw episode. So yes, I'd be willing to put up with some ads, though personally I hate ads in the middle of a movie. Takes me out of the whole thing. Or, in this case, a PPV I'm watching.

Paying for a service and believing adverts are acceptable is always baffling. Hell I find it tough to ever spare cash for the license fee when I'm in the UK given BBC shoves adverts on things for their own products, and yes, I think it's a bit eye roll worthy the WWE does ads for it's own junk on the Network too.
Even Spotify isn't that awkward. Premium services should not be pushing adverts at people, if there was a FREE (and limited) version of the WWE Network with adverts? Cool. That'd make it seem okay to me to pay for a premium service with no ads and a back catalog of stuff the free people aren't getting.
Plus Ad Block and various other things would work around the adverts anyway and many companies aren't blind to that occurring these days.

I've long expected WWE to sell ad space during their livestream. I'm honestly shocked that WWE hasn't already agreed to a WWE Specials' deal with their sponsors: They've already put a commercial in Extreme Rules and Payback for the sponsor anyway, so is it that much more to have in the deal for more sponsorship "You sponsor [x] special event, we'll add one month of guaranteed ads to the livestream?" Other than that- yeah, I'd love to see it (especially if they put the ads in between commercial breaks for TV shows), but part of me is wary that they won't exactly do it this way, especially with their rules (they already hide the matches he was in on the feed's "start/stop buttons" anyway...the "put the commercials in naturally" people have to know they're going to put commercials in between Chris Benoit matches.)
