More Scorpion making Sub Zero his bitch. and 2 brand new Characters.. Some Wasp Woman and a midget riding a big dude.. Not really sure what to think of the new characters at this time, I'll wait and see more of what they are like before I give an honest opinion. I hope there will be afew other returning characters (Other than Subs and Scorps ofcourse). I don't mind the edition of new characters (Aslong as they are good designs) but lets not go to overboard. And what looked like some sort of fish man drinking blood near the end. No matter what the big/little duo is know as, they'll always be Master Blaster to me.

I'm just curious how the fatalities will work out with Master Blaster, since it's two characters. Does the little girl live while the brute dies?
Also, unless these were just for the trailer, seems we may get unique pre-match quotes between certain fighters.

I could see it like how in Injustice certain people would talk to each other during clashes. Or it could just be story mode

Also, unless these were just for the trailer, seems we may get unique pre-match quotes between certain fighters. assuming they're not a boss-type enemy who's immune to fatalities, I'm going to go out on a limb and presume the little girl/boy flees when the big guy gets knocked out or something like that. Or maybe they'll get knocked out while the big guy gets killed. Although can't lie, I'd love it if Netherrealm Studios dared be one of the few games that broke the "killing children" taboo. I mean, they're apparently already having her/him viciously attack you, they might as well go all the way. As for the unique quotes, I hope you're right but I feel those must be story mode cutscenes. I'm digging the new characters' designs, although I must say I'm surprised there are so many already revealed, especially since they feel very much... "un-Mortal Kombat-like", they look more like SNK or Arc System Works characters. Don't get me wrong, as I said I like them, I'm just curious how they'll fit in with the rest of the cast. I'm also surprised there is so much focus on new characters as it would suggest it's straying further away from the "retelling the story" concept from the first. I was expecting more focus on post-MK3 characters like Frost, Shinnok, Havik, etc...

Well here's the funny thing about that: when somebody asked Ed Boon about whether MKX would be a sequel to MK9 or a story that stands alone, he said "Both, and it's hard to explain".

Is it possible that with the rewriting of the Khan trilogy, that the events post Shinnok don't happen, ala Deadly Alliance and Deception, thus introducing new Kombatents in the mix and retconning old ones?
I will be laughing if this also means Shujinko, Taven and Daegon are retconned

I will be laughing if this also means Shujinko, Taven and Daegon are retconned Well seeing how MK9 ended with Shinnok celebrating with Quan Chi over how successful their plan was, I believe at least some of these events will remain canon. Besides, Shao Kahn was supposedly dead for both Deadly Alliance and Deception so it's not like his death (which I'd be very surprised if it were definite this time) changes much to the plot. Here's my theory: with most Kombatants dead, Rayden realizes he won't have enough people to fight Shinnok and Quan Chi, so he will have both timelines merge together somehow, which would be a convenient way to bring back classic kombatants despite them suffering a fatal case of death, explain how there is still a human Sub-Zero despite, in the new continuity, one being Noob-Saibot and the other being roboticized, explain the previously mentioned new mechanic of choosing between different character variations (they come from alternate timelines) and would still leave room for new characters.

That sounds... remarkably quite reasonable. Also, out of one of the new chars I'm getting a Chang+Choi vibe, from when they were one char in Capcom vs. SNK 2

That ending is why I mentioned post Shinnok.

So, new news, thanks to a presentation from a few hours ago: www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmDCXckLIh8Apparently the story for this involves a massive time skip, not unlike Street Fighter 3. One of the characters in the current build of the game is... Yes, indeed. Cage did what he said he'd do and took Sonya out to dinner after all. There's also a fella by the name of... LOL @ these Kombatants' relatives coming out of the woodwork... The whole "multiple variations of characters" stuff is basically picking a fighting style from the selection screen. Each of the three styles will add or take away moves from their repertoire. Scorpion for instance can either A. Use his dual swords, B. Use fire moves, including a projectile, or C. Summon what look like Netherrealm demons to attack. Nice stuff...

Wasn't too thrilled at the teaser trailer and the horribly unfitting rap song. But the gameplay footage gave me a boner and yet another reason to hurry up and get a ps4...

It wasn't mentioned here yet I don't think...
-Insect woman's name is D'Vorah [Sounds Star Trekish to me, but whatever.] -Master Blaster's official names are Ferra for the girl and Torr for the hulking beast.

So thats why they call this Mortal Kombat X(X for unkown of course) but not Mortal Kombat 10 , since it will be taking place many years in the future.
