But honestly, the turn makes no sense. This would be like Goldberg joining the NWO after steamrolling over Hogan.

Only thing goofy about it is the timing. If it had happened next week instead it'd be sensible.
Instead we're led to believe that in the 2 1/2 hours since Batista left earlier in the show, HHH worked this out with Rollins from start to finish.
Reigns: "Hey bro who you texting"
Rollins: "Um...just some chick"
Reigns: "Oh yeah which one?
Rollins "Hunter....uh...Hunterina!"

It did have a build. Remember that one week when Rollins abandoned the team and walked off? This wasn't without precedent. He showed he didn't have the stomach to endure punishment like Reigns and Ambrose. It wasn't without precedent, that's right. As I said up in my post, though, that precedence will not be mentioned for his reasoning. That is not how WWE does their builds. They do it based on the events of a certain section of time and they aren't really bothered if it's brought up again or not because it's all trivial and disposable depending on the situation. The only reason they did it with Bryan, for example, was because they HAD to or else 'Mania was going to be a train wreck. If it were up to them, Bryan would have been booted by Sheamus and they might have even decided to have Cole joke about how it's already gone over 18 seconds. Sorry about that, I didn't read that correctly. I kind of dove in head-first after the first few lines. Is it a phenomenal build? Not really. But hey, at least we've got some kind of running continuity with this. Rollins showed that he was less loyal to Shield than Reigns or Ambrose. Lo and behold, we get this. It's not like some kind of bizarre nonsense like Tatanka selling out to DiBiase; this was Occam's Razor. Who was most likely to bail on the team? Rollins. Who bailed on the team? Rollins. I like that it was out of nowhere but also not completely arbitrary. Maybe they'll explain the catalyst for him turning on his team, or maybe they won't. But at least they chose the guy who sort of fits leaving the team, rather than a pointless Reigns or Ambrose turnaround.

A day removed, I'm less angry about the actual move and more confused about the execution. They could have accomplished the same thing by having Rollins turn at Payback after the Batista elimination, even if it meant eliminating Rollins first. Let everyone get all excited that there was one member of Evolution left in the match against Reigns and Ambrose and then boom, Rollins turns, same sort of chair ass-whuppin' and you have a really compelling reason to get everyone tuning into RAW.
Batista still could have quit - stating that he wasn't being kept in the loop on Evolution's plans, and HHH, Orton and Rollins could have beat him down on RAW to establish the new group.

I think Batista quitting will play into Rollins turn honestly. I think we'll find out that everything that was promised to Dave is now promised to Rollins, including the title match.

Really, that's the only way I can see this working.... Rollins saying something to the effect of, "We've already beaten everyone in six man action, I have saved everyone's ass, but Roman Reigns is still gets all the glory.... I saw my opportunity for glory and took it by aligning myself with the Authority." Including Batista's title match.
Otherwise, it comes across like good guy Rollins, "Awwww... we've beaten Evolution twice and now one of their guys left.... I better help them out!"

Seth Rollins walking away from that tag match that one random week was already explained as him trying to force the team to get on the same page. Bringing that up now would make absolutely no sense considering they not only got on the same page after that, but became more dominant than ever as a group.
This turn is nonsensical, and maybe Seth does wonders with it, but this really was a swerve for the sake of swerving and that doesn't sit well with me.

Agreed. Sadly that makes more sense than the explanation we're likely to get.

The greatest stable in WWE history is gone. I'm just glad I got to witness them do their thing for the last year and a half. Hopefully this Rollins thing works out. I would've preferred Ambrose turning on Rollins/Reigns, though

Ok, that is brilliant. Age of The Evolution!! I hope they advance this somewhat at the SD tapings tonight and not just leave it till next Monday. I am going to really miss face Rollins tho I am looking forward to the beatdown/revenge segments we could get from Rollins vs Ambrose/Reigns. Shits going to be intense, I can imagine some crazy brawls happening. I am feeling a little bit better about it now, but it still sucks! We better get a Shield DVD set damn it!!!

At first I was upset, but then thought if this leads to Rollins versus Daniel Bryan then I am all for it. Also just speculating but it kinda makes sense though, despite being the star of the group,Reigns is the guy who gets the most cheer and credit.

I'd like to see H take Rollins under his wing and groom him in his image. Hell even dig out that ugly green robe and have him come out to a version of "My Time" or his 2nd blueblood theme.

Someone else mentioned this but we should get some brilliant Rollins vs Ambrose PPV matches now, considering the chemistry they had facing eachother in FCW. And also potential for a great Rollins vs Bryan feud down the line at least. and man those were some brutal shots from Rollins this pic is kind of a good argument against people who criticize wrestling/wrestlers "not getting hurt at all". Damn...

I think it's a better argument for looking into ways of doing things such that they did not get hurt, or at least to minimize damage/risk for injury.

Team DIFH: Stephanie McMahon Edition I'm down for Bryan vs Rollins, they tore the god damn house down on multiple occasions in ROH. Also, yes please to Rollins vs Ambrose on the big stage. One thing I did just now realize. While the Shield were pretty much looked at as headliners at this point, I can't help but feel that when Rollins joined forces with Triple H and Orton, that he became a permanent fixture of the main event. We will be seeing him main event pay per views along with Raw and Smackdown going forward. Seth Rollins has officially arrived. If WWE puts the heavyweight title on the line in the Money In the Bank match and they don't go with Cesaro, it has to be Rollins I'm thinking. Money In the Bank would be a perfect showcase of Rollins' talents as WWE's equivalent to heel Jeff Hardy.
