Punk's an asswipe, but you probably shouldn't have repeated yourself. Being really outgoing towards one of the friendlier wrestlers wouldn't be a problem, but Punk's known for not taking kindly to that kind of thing.
It's kind of like jumping in the ocean with a great white shark and getting your arm bitten off. Yeah, it really sucks, but it's a shark. It doesn't understand what you're doing or even what you are.

Should have asked him how his Blackhawks are doing.

What a miserable prick. He obviously picked the wrong profession if he gets that dickish to a person just recognizing him on the street.

Sometimes I wonder if he's so naive that he thinks that since he's quit, people are all of a sudden going to leave him alone.

Sometimes a guy just doesn't want to be bothered. That doesn't make him a dick, necessarily. From your account, I get the impression you didn't take a hint when he ignored you the first time. That being said, I could simply be misinterpreting your account of events. That's the thing though, I wasn't bothering him, I didn't even make a move towards him. I was standing in front of 7-11 waiting for my friend to finish getting what she was getting. I was simply asking if they were who I thought they were. A simple yes or no would have been enough. Hell, he didn't even have to say anything he could have just nodded and kept walking. He just came off as being really extra to me.

When meeting wrestlers, you just need to follow Chris Jericho's lead. In other words, you should've said "My name is CM Punk too."

He's decided to take himself out of the public eye. And he's going to blow off anyone who tries to put himself back in it. He's not a TV figure anymore.
Honestly, how many stories like this are there? Why do people still try to talk to him out in the street? He's made it clear time and time again that he hates it.

What a miserable prick. He obviously picked the wrong profession if he gets that dickish to a person just recognizing him on the street. There's so many worse things Punk could've said if he were legit trying to be a dick. Seems more like he just wanted to be left alone. Also, I think you can want to be a professional wrestler and also want times where you don't want people talking to you (nothing against the OP, just in general). Especially if half the stuff Punk has to deal with are true. Sometimes I wonder if he's so naive that he thinks that since he's quit, people are all of a sudden going to leave him alone. He's probably just trying to stay low-key enough to not cause a scene if he goes somewhere.

If you were a hot girl I bet he'd react different ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

First off, the OP neglected to mention that he was drinking a Coke.
Second, I'd have rather the story go more like this:
"Domino, awesome, it's you man. Wow. How cool to run into you.
"And dang, Deuce, you've dropped some weight and gotten tatted up."

The one thing I find amusing about the CM Punk encounters is that he seems disinterested in people recognizing him and all that. Yet, he uses that same fame so he can pal around with bands, athletes and celebrities. Look at this Twitter feed, outside of his Blackhawks posts, he sends tweets to MMA fighters, Jimmy Fallon and the Los Angeles Kings mascot. You shoulda told him you're the guy in the Bailey the Lion costume.

You should have just completely thrown him for a loop - "oh my god, you're the Undertaker!"

You should have just completely thrown him for a loop - "oh my god, you're the Undertaker!" One time I met David Lee Roth. I looked him in the eye and simply said "Dad???". Needless to say, that man high tailed out of that conversation faster than you can say paternity test.

Maybe it was just some dude that looked like Punk? This is initially what I thought since pretty much every dude around that area looks like Punk, but then I noticed Domino walking with him.

Here's the problem I with labeling a person a dick over one incident like this, which a little unfair. Every one of us has days or times of day when we are just in a bad mood for whatever reason. In those situations, we can be short or rude to even people we know and like. And since Punk is just a person like any one of us, we can't know if he was already mad or stressed out for whatever reason, and being approached by someone got him more annoyed given his mood.
And plus in these situations in general it's easy for us to cast dispersions and act like guys are assholes when we have literally NO IDEA what it's like to be approached by people all the time when we're out. We all go about anonymously and never have that problem. Maybe some of us would hate it too in that spot. We don't know because we've never been put in that position. And maybe you would be okay with it sometimes, but certain days you just wouldn't want to deal with it.
