I am here to show appreciation to one wrestler who could quite possibly be the Greatest World Champion in the history of both sports entertainment, and professional wrestling.
Vacant.
That's right. Vacant has held 9 different World Championships, spanning across 7, if not more, different promotions. Here are the big names and how many times Vacant has held the gold.
WWE Championship - 10 times World Championship - 5 times WCW Championship - 12 times WCW International HW Championship - 1 time ECW Championship - 1 time ROH Championship - 1 time NWA Championship - 9 times AWA Championship - 1 time TNA Championship - 3 times
Vacant is a 43-time World Heavyweight Champion. And let's not get into the numerous Intercontinental, United States, European, Light-Heavyweight, Cruiserweight, Hardcore, etc. Championships this man has held.
So appreciate him, FAN!! He is the Champion of Champions!

Vacant is not some underrated individual, who's gone unrecognized in his time and is only now getting the appreciation he deserves.
He's a crutch. A reliable hand sure, but at the end of the day, really not much more than a warm body that various promotions felt safe in giving the championship to in certain scenarios. A white bread performer to be used because he's not going to leave and they can overuse his gimmick matches (battle royals, tournaments) to spike some interest.
He's a McDonald's hamburger. Sure you can always afford it, and get it pretty easily, but there's nothing extraordinary there; never will there be a DVD/Blu Ray best of with Vacant, nor are they deserving of one.

Why am I not surprised that he's held the WCW title the most?

I know one thing mid 90's Shawn Michaels had a hell of time beating that MF'er.

Has Vacant ever held the World Title in more than one promotion at the same time before?

Its sad the WWE was never too hot on giving him a long title reign. His win over Austin was his longest as a world champ if I'm not mistaken but at least the last 2 have been decently long.

Has Vacant ever held the World Title in more than one promotion at the same time before? Ignoring the stop and start reigns of the NWA title since about 91, the best example I've found was in June 2007 where Vacant held both the ECW and TNA World Championships.

I don't know how we the fans and wrestling historians have overlooked Vacant. They're all fools to not acknowledge the greatness that is Vacant! There is no argument. Vacant is the single greatest World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion of all time.

Vacant was pissed that he was not going to be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion after last night. He threatened to walk but they calmed him down by agreeing to make him the IC champion.

I love Vacant as champ. He's the only champ I've ever seen that no one bitches about holding the title.

Such a nice guy, too. He actually agreed to lose the WWEWH title just to get the chance to elevate the IC title.

Is Vacant the surname of a great wrestling family and his sister/mother/wife has held the Women's and Divas Championships, or is he just an equal opportunist?

With the way WCW was booked by the end, I don't think anyone can really credit Vacant for those reigns. I mean Booker won it five times in that period as a first time champion fer chrissakes. Vacant's were mostly just thankyou reigns because Russo used to mark for him.
