But he had no plan beyond that. There was no end game. It was "Ha ha! I'm purposefully going into a trap to get some bling! Then I'll get killed and nothing will be accomplished! Ha ha!". Yeah, that's the legend, he goes to prove he's the best archer, knowing it's a trap and then gets caught, but manages to get out with the aid of his merry men. It's what he does. It's only stupid if you die. That's a stupid legend. YOU HEAR ME, ROBINHOOD?! YOUR LEGEND IS STUPID!!

Sad news today, Jane Baker has died, one of the few female writers from the classic series, and co-creator of the Rani along with her husband Pip. Pity she couldn't see her most famous creation return in audio form. A wonderful writer with a real love of language, even if her stories weren't always the most popular.
RIP.

I thought it was a thoroughly boring episode. The weakest so far

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}If Clara's talking to who I think she's talking to....
Holy f***. I really want to see the Robin Hood episode, though. I always enjoyed Robin Hood.

I loved the concept of the episode, but not the execution. The execution of a great idea was just so bland. It doesn't help that after around 3 years now I'm not invested in Clara, no matter how I like the actor. For all the criticism I can, and will, throw at Rose and Amy,that moment would have had far more weight with either of those characters.

so i keep forgetting that Capaldi played George Harrison in that John & Yoko: A Love Story film back in 85...which has Paul McGann's younger brother Mark playing John in it.

Some weird, pseudo-philosophical rambling about the fear of the unknown? I guess? And about a dozen other things? It feels like it tried to tackle many different topics at the same time but never had a point to make about any of them, it was all over the place, nothing was really developed, there was pretty much no story nor moral. I guess it might have been setting things up for future events but... what was the point of this episode? Nothing happened, it's just filler, taking up space.
Man, Steven Moffat needs to stop thinking he's profound.

I said on another forum this episode had a weird sense of absence to it, like I was waiting for it to start.
I will say this much though - Capaldi as the Doctor is carrying me through every episode. He is eminently watchable and interesting as Capaldi learns what his version of the character is about just as we are. No one has managed that for me since Ecclestone.
