I may sound like Hawk, but in all of my 4 decades, I've never seen anything like Adam Dunn's double Friday night.
I'm sure you've seen it by now: Dunn hits a long drive that hits the top of the wall. Ball bounces up while Astros LF L.J. Hoes crashes into the wall. Ball hits the top of the wall AGAIN (!!!) Then bounces into L.J.'s glove.
They reviewed it, but Adam got a double. (Dunn was hustling on that play. If it were Konerko, Paulie would be standing on 1B.)

I actually remember one game a handful of years ago when Fox had McCarver announce a new segment with a CGI baseball called "Slider" or something, a little cartoon ball that would pop up and explain basic baseball information to kids. It was the worst thing since the ebola virus, and was gone by the next game. Oh I remember slider. It was awful and it actually stuck around for most of the season. Fox eventually realized that the only CGI character fans could tolerate was Cleatus. Slider was bad, but about Digger the Inbred Redneck Gopher, which started out as a graphic for their on-track camera, but became a CGI character with animated segments on NASCAR programming. On a different topic, has anyone ever heard about the bootleg Cubs mascot that has been terrorizing Wrigleyville?

2-0? Maybe, if its 12-0, I can understand someone being a bit miffed, but even then, I hate when players complain about "unwritten rules of baseball." The fact he is preoccupied about a bunt in a 2-0 game probably explains why his ERA is over 6.00 this year.

The only real "unwritten rule" that I believe in is don't throw at a batter's head. The rest are pretty much crap

According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, Marlins closer Steve Cishek has been a very popular name in recent trade talks.
Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports that the Tigers, Indians and Pirates are among the most ardent pursuers of Padres right-handed reliever Joaquin Benoit.
According to John Hickey of the Oakland Tribune, the Athletics remain eager to find a new home for former closer Jim Johnson.

After how anemic the Yanks have looked lately, that 3 game sweep of the Reds was pretty nice. Now let's see if they can take advantage of a woefully bad Rangers team or completely underperform and crap the bed.

Buster Olney is reporting the discussion in the Cards front office of trying to work a deal to get David Price AND Evan Longoria from the Rays.
Yeah, I'd like to see the package we'd have to use to make THAT trade.

Yeah, I'd like to see the package we'd have to use to make THAT trade. I've got to imagine that any deal that would land David Price and Evan Longoria in St. Louis would have to start with Oscar Taveras going to Tampa Bay. If I'm the Rays, I'm starting the conversation with an offer of Price and Longoria for Taveras, Carlos Martinez, Marco Gonzalez, Carson Kelly, and Oscar Mercado. Two pitchers, an outfielder, an infielder, and a catcher. Tampa Bay would have their future locked up at multiple positions.

Considering what I've seen of Tavaras and Martinez this year, that deal wouldn't make me sad if they went for it. Especially if they got Price locked up for a few more years. It's the first Longoria has been mentioned and the Rays haven't been approached so it's all rumor for now.

He's a better option than Matt Carpenter, but I don't see why the Cardinals would want to sell the farm to acquire him. They're fairly set in the infield, with Matt Adams, Kolten Wong, Jhonny Peralta, and Carpenter circling the diamond. Unless Wong or Adams are sent to Tampa Bay in any deal, at which point the Cards would have to re-arrange their infield, dealing prospects for Longoria doesn't seem to make a tremendous amount of sense.
