Mini games where you have a millisecond to press the button that pops up on the screen. I've rage quit so many games over that nonsense.

Urban Reign: That game is hard when you fight one AI fighter, but usually you're in a larger environment so you can find ways to strategize. Try fighting 5 of these dudes in a small, cramped environment, rage of a thousand suns! Dead Space: Who thought it was a good idea to make an asteroids styled mini-game where you have to shoot rocks for 2 minutes, and some you can't even shoot because of the limited aim, I've gotten stuck there so many times it's not even funny. Manhunt: The Crane sections. Crash Bandicoot 2: go into Ruination with 22 lives leave with 2 These were a mofo Those damn platforms!

the magic carpet ride and genie bottle levels of Aladdin on the sega genesis.... those damn jumps you have to make in the rocky and bullwinkle game on the genesis...how can you NOT hit something with those tiny tiny spaces they give you...
and for teenage me:
f*** that last level on sonic adventure 2 where you are basically sliding down pipes with no ground to land on...f*** that level!!!

Right now for me its The Witcher. The combat in that game is weak and a pain in the ass. It frustrates me to no end.

Dead Space: The part where you have to shoot the meteorites.
South Park The Stick of Truth: The mandatory tutorials. I already know how to fight/use magic/use items/fart. Just let me play!
Fallout New Vegas: Sierra Madre. I've only played it once and once was enough. The forced stealth, the deadly gas, INSANELY overpowered enemies and to make it even more frustrating they add those speakers which can f***ing kill you if you don't move fast enough. The lonesome road was more easier.

Castlevania continued...
Fifth playthrough attempt: crashed near the stairwell on the 3rd screen of level 6
Sixth playthrough: Beat. The. F***in'. Game. Finally!
I have never ever played a game THAT broken. I can't believe Crashlevania isn't more well known in terms of the problems with it. There were 3 different spots overall where the game locked up on me, and that is inexcusable, especially for a game with no save or password function. It was never a matter of difficulty.

Man, the first Crash Bandicoot is something else. I haven't played it in ages, but I remember playing 1 after 2 and dying soooooooo many times both because it's so different from all the others and it's crazy difficult. The bosses were quite fun though, if I recall.

The original Phantasy Star. 50% chance you get too strong a monster in your first random encounter and you die.
The 7th Saga. You played it? Then you know. Unfair. Too hard. Cheap. One-hit kills. RED PISON.

And then it spikes again when you reach Slippery Climb. The latter one I recall being a particular pain in the arse.

Nothing wrong with the Witchers combat. Just make sure you have the correct sword/style active. Also prep time for putting greases on your sword.
Anyway fpr me it's pretty much any helicopter mission in the Saints Row/GTA series. The realization that I would have to do a helicopter speed run before I could get to the cool skydiving training in GTA 5 still fills me with horror.

I remember,I hated playing through Dead Money on 360, but when I got it on PC, I got a mod that let you keep your gear from the wasteland, simply having a shotgun made life so, so much easier.

RED PISON. Phantasy Star IV had some rough moments, too. Fighting the three villains in the Air Castle, if you don't know you need to focus-fire on one of them to prevent their combination attack, you're going to have a really rough time. Rougher still if you didn't get Burstroc first and otherwise prepare for the fight. Young me had a really bad time with that section of the game, especially since the next boss isn't exactly easy. "ANOTHERGATE" "OHGODNO!"

I just got the GOTY edition and I'm going to replay the whole game through, but I know that I can't just leave a quest line hanging and that I'm going to have to f***ing do it all again.

I'm currently on the final boss (Shao Kahn) on Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks and it's... difficult. When you combine the fact that you have to defeat two bosses before him and losing means you restart all of it with the glitches/possibility of freezing which also results in restarting all of it, it's a tad maddening. Not even close to the most unfair game I've ever played mind you, but it's really challenging. It took me a week to get to the end of the game, and to be honest I can't remember if I ever actually beat Khan.

Broken Sword: That motherf***ing goat. Being 9 and having no internet, I'm pretty sure I spent months trying to figure out how to get past that bastard.

Soul Calibur 3's Tales of Souls mode is a pain in the ass from start to finish. You have random QTEs sprinkled throughout it. Abyss is up there with SNK bosses based on how hard he can be to defeat. One of the cool things about beating the damn mode is getting the in-game endings. Just when you thought you can sit back and watch the ending, there goes another QTE, and whether you respond to the prompt or not, you'll get two variants to a character's ending, which is pretty interesting. The worst thing about Tales of Souls is that you cannot adjust the difficulty, making it more frustrating for any player that simply wants to unlock the rest of the characters.
