Interesting that they aren't going to require a credit card for the free trial this time around. They must really want to hook people into signing up for the Network...

The more I hear about the Network's troubles, the more I worry.
I don't want it to fail, but I'm not very optimistic.

The more I hear about the Network's troubles, the more I worry. I don't want it to fail, but I'm not very optimistic. It's definitely not looking good at the moment. Without even factoring in the financial or computer requirements of it, I just think that most people don't have the desire to see that much wrestling.

The focus should be on the PPV's but this won't matter if the current product is not getting enough viewers. I don't see how the WWE gets away from the Network though. There really is no going back. Hopefully the WWE is viewing this as a long term commitment . Clearly investors are not.

Hopefully the WWE is viewing this as a long term commitment . Clearly investors are not. Well, the current product not getting enough viewers is pretty much the name of the game these days. WWE Network was never really going to make more people watch Raw or SmackDown (especially since you can't even watch those shows live on it). But the problem with being so niche is that there's not really a lot of ways to market it to people. You can have the commentary shill it constantly, but chances are that you're just marketing to people that already know about WWE Network since they're likely already wrestling fans. But at the same time, how do you market it to non-wrestling fans who wouldn't even care? It's weird how porn has no issue getting through to people, yet WWE is having problems (not comparing porn to wrestling, just the fact they're both niche forms of entertainment).

I am noticing that the content is not as large as I thought. There are only a couple of matches with Pedro Morales and I was expecting a lot more.

I'm liking it so far, so much choice to cram in in just one week. Definitely going to subscribe when it gets a UK launch

I don't see this as a bad thing in the slightest. It's no different than the HBO free preview weekend.

also wrestling is not niche either. It is how ever very over exposed. There are at least three shows with wwe content that you can get without the network. Lots of people don't really feel the need to watch past smackdown and raw..

They do draw a wide variety of people, and are consistently one of the top programs in America..

Go to Kayfabe Memories and that is a HUGE complaint about the Network - very little WWWF content. I am beginning to agree with NOWave - maybe the end of WCW drove away a large portion of the wrestling audience for good.

MSG house shows were broadcast on cable since the early to mid 70's, though and a lot of those were broadcast on WWE On Demand as were the 70's episodes of Championship Wrestling and All Star Wrestling.

Ehh the network is great and all but they need to produce new content quicker because I see no reason in keeping it.

Honestly now that all my TV shows are on summer hiatus and NFL is off season the only thing I watch is WWE Network. I love this thing and don't want it to fail so hope the free trial brings in some new subscribers.

They do need to add all the Raws and Nitros. The 97-2001 Raws were what I wanted to watch most honestly

I'm actually more interested in the addition of Nitro. I've always been a major WWF/E guy, so Nitro will be prettying new to me.
All I saw of WCW TV was January 2000 until the end.
