WWE bookers are not that smart. You're giving them waaay too much credit in thinking it's their intention to turn people on Reigns. It's very apparent that they genuinely believe people should love him with all their hearts just because they tell them to.

See this weeks rating? See the number one trend in the world? Hear that pop?
I guarantee Vince doesn't think he's getting pushed too fast.

To be completely fair, most WWE trends become number one in the world at some point because a lot of people tweet about RAW all at once. If they put up a graphic telling people "to join the conversation on Twitter, use #JerryLawlerDiarrhea" it would go number one as well.

Trending mean nothing if no one new is buying the actual product. It's worthless bullshit if it doesn't translate to new customers or continued spending. So I hold zero stock in Twitter for a barometer of anything, other than a fleeting brainfart of ADD iPhone-peckers. That said, with the news of Bryan being far worse off, Roman is still by far the smartest egg to put in WWE's basket (until Ambrose gets over huge in spite of booking). I just hope WWE doesn't blow their load too early or worse yet, overplay their hand and wreck his current appeal by Poochying him too bad by WrestleMania. But I'm not holding my breath. It's happened way too often, and it's always been because WWE goes into try-hard mode. Hope I'm wrong. I really like Reigns.

Maybe a better way to think of it is that they consider the Rocky Miavia effect to be such an appealing plan B that they don't really even consider the downsides of pushing someone too fast to be a problem.

I have no idea why, but you can bet if something starts trending worldwide you'll see more of it. I think Vince looks at it like the voice of the public or something. I get why they take that approach, but I agree it may not mean that much in the real world.

Yeah... not to mention a number of htose tweets could be something like #rawisreigns is the dumbest thing ever. Still pushes the topic towards trending... which if I remember right also only means that more people are suddenly talking about it... so if it goes from 0 - a couple hundred in a matter of seconds yeah it's going to be listed as a top trend.

f***ing hell it seems that the internet is turning on Roman Reigns at a quicker rate than they did with John Cena, The Shield only broke up a few weeks ago!

I mean the name of the game is exposure. Even if it's hate people are willing to talk about it, which means wwe gets more exposure, which means advertisers are more willing to pay wwe to advertise for them . All the people who endorse Kim Kardashian have to know that a large part of her fame are people who hate her guts, but who cares if people are hating it or loving it, the fact is people are responding to it, which for an advertiser is 1/2 the battle.

I do find it funny that most Raw and SmackDown episodes as of late seem to now end with Roman standing tall, especially after recovering from a beatdown like it's no big deal. He's more invincible than Cena, it would seem.
