Can't believe it took until the second page for that. You're slipping, FAN! was going to say the same thing. and same diva too how about Lex Luger/Narcissist- came in with big hype, don;t think he even got a title shot- turned face and did the lex express thing and supposed to stop Yokozuna and, yeah that didn;t happen either. i recall an injury being involved (going heel again with the iron bar in his forearm as his new finisher) at some point but, considering what he did in WCW it took me quite a while to even remember he was in the WWE for this post so figure that should qualify him.

I have no idea why they don't just push Hunico as Sin Cara now, Rey is still out and Sin Cara's target audience (kids) don't care who's behind the mask, nor do they even notice, I have even seen kids wearing the mask in public recently. He got a mini push when that Scooby Doo movie came out but now you barely ever see him, at least put him on Smackdown or something.

One could argue long term that Mark Henry paid off. He's well known for his Attitude Era run as Sexual Chocolate, and "The Hand", and his last few years he's had a stellar run with his Hall of Pain gimmick. Ryback isn't a bust yet, as he can still get back on top of the mountain. He has had a pretty spectacular fall from grace, though. Long term? Maybe. As far as the original investment goes though, he was a massive flop. They thought they'd gotten a guy who'd be a bonafide main eventer and got someone who was a punchline for about 90% of his ten-year contract. The Hall of Pain stuff was fantastic, but it took him 15 years to get to that point.

No. While Mistico Sin Cara may not have been all that he should have from an in-ring standpoint, he sold merch regardless so I have little doubt that the WWE made a lot of money on the deal. Compare that to the time, money and effort the WWE have spent pushing Randy Orton. I have a hard time believing that they have ever had a real bump in buyrates or ticket sales because Orton was there, but he remains at the top of the card, being adequate at best which just isn't enough to justify all that effort. When someone is pushed for a decade, they should be something special but Orton has never shown signs of greatness and likely never will. He couldn't stay healthy DOESN'T MATTER SOLD MERCH He was a botch machine DOESN'T MATTER SOLD MERCH He was outshined by 58 year old Mysterio DOESN'T MATTER SOLD MERCH He was just...replaced AT LEAST HE BECAME AN AWESOME MEME Compared to what they paid him, and all the medical treatment he required, it's a wonder WWE is still in business. As for Orton, I have definitely seen some greatness out of him over the years, and he moves the merch as well. He's also a nearly perfect worker in terms of what WWE is looking for.

They want all their wrestlers to put the Fans to sleep before the match even begins?

Tazz. What a debut, then he was a joke. Too many Injuries, he had to call it quits
Unfortunately someone thought it was a good idea to give him a commentary headset and for over the past 10 years we've suffered...

Great question. One could make a top 10 list with pro wrestling busts.
First of all, Sin Cara is not it. Not to parrot what was said already but yeah, he sold merch.
It needs to be somebody who was hyped to be a surefire success, somebody that didn't pay out at all.
Mark Henry can't be it. He did eventually become serviceable and busts don't last so long.
Tazz is a good candidate but you can't call him a bust really because his ECW work is real notable and good. Nathan Jones is a GREAT candidate. Siva Afi, gets hyped as the next Snuka, barely rises above jobber status...Drew McIntyre, Vince McMahon calls him a future WWE champion, the Chosen One, well we saw how that ended.... Steve Bradley was hyped as somebody that would be special but only made the show as an extra... Lots of people thought Ken Doane would be special... Mr Kennedy was a bust...
If we're talking about concepts, then Brawl For All...

He got a mini push when that Scooby Doo movie came out but now you barely ever see him, at least put him on Smackdown or something. Cara's target audience was not children. He was targeted at Hispanic (Mexican specifically) viewers who KNOW that it's not the same guy. On top of that it's probably because Hunico was never particularly very good as "high flying lucha-spectacle" like the Sin Cara gimmick is supposed to be. He is much better when he's doing his mat based offense.

Silent Rage
Had an entire TV series dedicated to his getting hired by the WWE.
Is on TV for one segment, gets a stunner and is never seen again do to various issues.
If you add up time spent promoting a guy VS payoff, he has to be #1.
