I just got back from the first Tokyo show, so I thought I'd offer up a simple rundown of the event tonight. I'll try my best to make it snarkless.
{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}The opener was Miz vs. Ziggler. Miz worked as a comedy heel, protecting his face and ducking in and out of the ring and refusing to get back in unless Ziggler lowers his fist. Ziggler was the face in peril and got a lot of fangirl chants before winning a surprisingly slow (I think they were trying to work a different style for the crowd) match with a super-kick and zigzag.
Harper and Rowan vs. Kofi and Big E: This is where the crowd started really getting into the show. Quite a few Wyatt cosplayers swaying and enjoying the entrance. Harper and Big E had a fun little exchange of trying to knock each other down. Kofi got the win with a rollup on Harper after a hot tag. Harper and Rowan beat the crap out of the face team almost immediately after the bell rang and left.
Neville vs. Zayn: Zayn cut a short promo before the match talking about how he's had some of his best memories in Japan, and thanking the fans. Neville plays sort of a reluctant heel but never goes out of the way to do anything underhanded. Very athletic match with a lot of counters, but Neville wins clean with his finisher. They shake hands after the match and get a lot of Ole chants.
Ambrose and Reigns vs. Kane and Rollins: Reigns and Ambrose get the first really big pops of the night. A lot of the match was Ambrose trying to murder Rollins until Kane helped his team get the upper hand. The fans were really into Ambrose basically cheerleading anytime Reigns landed a hit. Towards the end of the match, Ambrose does a fun little bit where he goes to make a hot tag to Reigns, but is delirious and is crawling toward the wrong corner. Reigns finally gets back in and is about to put away Kane, but Rollins hits him with the briefcase, resulting in a DQ. The heels beat on the faces, but Reigns and Ambrose turn it around and clear the ring. The faces high-fived and shook hands with everyone at ringside, and Reigns geeked out a bit over a giant sign for him. There was one "I LOVE TITTY MASTER" sign, but unfortunately it was addressed.
After an intermission, Paige vs Fox. There was a twitter vote for this to be a match or a dance off, but it ends up being a match--resulting in Roberts saying "The following contest will be....A MATCH!!!" Well, you could call it that. Fox beats on Paige until the last ten seconds, where Paige dodges a running attack, knocks down Fox, and locks in her submission for the win.
RVD vs Cesaro: Heyman interrupts the announcing to talk about Brock breaking the streak and builds up Cesaro. RVD comes out to the second biggest pop of the night--the Tokyo crowd loves the RVD chant. Very intense back and forth match, with Cesaro doing a very impressive catch and hoist of RVD into the uppercut (kinda like the 2/3 falls match with Zayn). Heyman pounds on the apron in intervals of three, which causes RVD chant and Heyman to get angry. RVD wins with the frog splash. Match of the night in my opinion.
The main event was Cena vs. Wyatt. Cena came out to a huge pop, while everyone did the cell-phone waving and swaying for Bray. Wyatt beats on Cena for a while, but the family members are banned from ringside after trying to interfere. Wyatt kicks out of an AA and Cena kicks out of a Sister Abigail. After a ref bump, the family runs in and beats down Cena, holding him up for Wyatt to hit with a chair. Of course, Wyatt accidentally takes out Rowan with a chair and Cena gets the win with an AA. After the match he thanks the crowd and Japan for having WWE over.
Sorry for not really detailing things properly, I just got home and the train ride kinda took it out of me. If there's any questions about the show or whatever, just lemme know and I'll be happy to answer. Japanese crowds can be a lil quiet, but they were hot for this one and really had fun doing English chants.
