Yeah, there's no way that the draft lottery isn't fixed. NBA is faker than WWE.

It was surprising. I thought it was a swerve that Cleveland won the lottery this past draft. I had to wonder what the deal was when I heard Cleveland won back-to-back. I also had this thought, you still have to draft well regardless.

Dirk and Kobe were drafted by different teams. In Kobe's case he flat out refused to play for the Hornets, despite Kobe's claim that the Hornets didn't believe in him. A draft day trade is when both teams know who they want and draft players on the other team's request in order to facilitate the transaction. So while it is technically a trade, it's the equivalent of being drafted by that team. I don't consider Kobe a Hornets draft pick, and i bet nether do the Hornets. The NBA is a superstar driven league. Only a handful of teams have a chance every year because of that. However, when you take the best player and team him with a top 5-10 player (depending on where you want to slot Wade from 2010-2014) and another top 20 player (Bosh), that stacks the odds heavily in one favor, and weakens the rest of the league. Only the teams that draft Hall of Famers win championships, that's why there are so few NBA teams with titles. LeBron took the easiest route to a title that any star can take. What Kobe did was worse than LeBron. Kobe and his agent straight up refused to play for any team other than the Lakers. At least LeBron went to the team that drafted him, honored his contract, and gave them 6 good years.

I don't recall the circumstances around Kobe's drafting, but the CBA back then was terrible, so I wouldn't doubt it. The lockout two years later was much needed. With that said, if LeBron straight up signed with Miami and didn't do all the Decision and "not 2, not 3...." stuff, he may have saved his rep a bit. That was his biggest mistake.

I don't blame them for bringing the best player in the league back, but LeBron made that city his bitch.

@mickyarison I am shocked & disappointed in today's news. However I will never forget what Lebron brought us for 4 years. Thanks for memories @kingjames.

I don't know but I must admit I'm stunned by this. Looks like it's the end of the hWo. I wonder when someone is going to make a parody of the promo with Hogan talking about the nWo splitting up. What a shocker to say the least.

And now that Cleveland tourism video becomes accurate again.

So do the fans in Miami become Cleveland fans now? I'll still be a Heat fan. I was a fan after Shaq left and when Mourning had to sit out for years due to his kidney problems. But I'll be cheering for LeBron to win the NBA Title if Cleveland makes it to the Finals this year. As I said in the NBA thread just now, LeBron gave the Miami Heat 4 great years of basketball that we will never forget. So I have much respect for LeBron and what he does for the NBA. It'll be tough being a Heat fan this year, but I'll deal with it.

I'll admit, I've been less of a Heat fan than I've been a LeBron fan. I thought he wasn't given much help his first go-round with the Cavs and that Cleveland (and the internet in general) gave him WAAAYYY too much crap over the years. I loved seeing LeBron and the Heat win back-to-back titles because I wanted the haters to cry in their cereal. It's cool that LeBron is going back to Cleveland, I just can't wait to see how much backpedaling those LeBron haters will be doing now.

Crazy stuff...still...Spurs are going to likely repeat.
This is the first time in a long time that I'm genuinely surprised with the NBA. With the Heat likely out of the mix, the Cavs need to rebuild, the Nets are old, the Knicks have their problems, and the Celtics are unsteady, the Pacers are unsteady...I don't see any champions coming out of the east any time soon.
And if possible, if someone can knock off the Spurs...we might possibly get a turnaround that the NBA so desperately needs. One of the things that has bugged me for so long is how the old guard continues to dominate year after year. We could possibly see some change.

Yeah, there's no way that the draft lottery isn't fixed. NBA is faker than WWE. I still think that Patrick Ewing should've been to the Pacers, and this was before I was born. With this, Miami reverts back to a sports backwater... where it belongs.
