This thread is too awesome to let it slip through the cracks. Even though he's American, he made Japan his home base and it wasn't until much later that he debuted in CZW, I'm talking about Masada, in my opinion the best czw world champ of all time, most people scoff at "garbage" wrestling, but I think it's because the lack of talent in most deathmatch guys, Masada can wrestle with the best of them, he was trained by Rudy Boy Gonzalez in the Texas Wrestling Academy (where Spanky, London, Michael Shane and Dragon were trained), he actually uses psychology in his matches, builts to the weapon spots, he had classic matches with Davey and Generico. He should be on tv, the only thing holding him back is his attitude. Yeah, MASADA is very cool. I know at least one of his knees has had problems in the last year or so and he's not getting any younger so he has a little more working against him then just his attitude. I would have loved to see him given a major push in TNA at least for a short stretch as he seemed like he would have fit in well either a little before the Hogan era or after it. Of course that company is rumored to be dying now so I doubt we will ever see him there, but still. Figure i'll mention some Australian talent I think are worth checking out; • AJ Istria. Mostly works in Queensland with the occasional tour of Japan. Arguably the top guy in Australia currently. • Adam Brooks. Wrestles in Victoria and South Australia. Has improved greatly over the last 2 years and is becoming a big deal, fairly quick. • Joel Bateman. Wrestles pretty much everywhere. Did a tour of the U.S. a couple of years ago working with Beyond Wrestling and CZW. Arguably the top cruiserweight in the country having amazing matches with Lynx Lewis jr and Mystery/Turbo Wolverine. Kamalarambo mentioned above Elliot Sexton. If anyone is interested, Sexton has funded, created and released a documentary about his career so far for $9.99 (AUD) at brendanvink.com/ . And closing, I could post matches from the names mentioned above. But wouldn't it be more fun if you looked for them yourself? No? Well, whatever, i'm too lazy to do it. So instead, here is a really fun match from last month's Wrestleclash show in Melbourne. Mikey Broderick vs Damien Slater; Some great names from Australia's scene. I talked with AJ Istria and Joel Bateman last year when I did an interview series on Pacific Pro Wrestling (PPW). Aside from being great talents both are really nice guys. Speaking of PPW any reading this thread should check that fed out. Aside from Istria and Bateman the promotion has also had some incredible women's matches.

Lol wade Garrett should be getting a call from the legal department of wwe.
Ok I don't like this guy, but he should be mentioned, Drew Gulak, former CZW world heavyweight champion, is a good technical wrestler, good comedy too, do yourself a favor and watch Chuck Taylor's The Gentlemen Club. What I don't like about him is that I heard that someone called him the new Bryan Danielson, I strongly disagree, bryan always worked for the match, putting over his opponent, he accentuated his opponent strengths and hid their negatives, his selling is impressive, he can be with anyone on the ring, from Lance Storm to the Necro Butcher and the match will be awesome. Unlike Bryan, I find Gulak selfish, like he needs to control 90% of the match, another thing, if the opponent was a good technical wrestler, Bryan didn't exposed him with ground game, and hold for hold exchanges, Gulak does it, like he just needs to get his shit in, he once had a match with a rookie on beyond, and I just fell bad for the guy. Whatever, that being said, he is a great worker, he'll debut soon for pwg's battle of Los Angeles, and you know that they only book the best of the best there, I hate the guy but you guys should see him, does that makes sense? Giving my endorsement to someone I dislike? Lol

Some more talent worth mentioning. This post is just about female performers for a little change: Alexxis Nevaeh: A great New England based talent who has been working nearly 10 years and is still in her twenties. A lot of fans who know her may just know her WSU work, but she is worth checking out beyond just one promotion. Also, she just debuted for CZW proper in April so more people should start hearing about her soon. Write-up: bit.ly/1AAtVkvKimber Lee: She has been getting some bad press lately as has been discussed in my Americanrana thread. However, there is a reason AIW was so pissed off she missed a booking. She is an excellent worker and though I'm generally not that huge on intergender matches she is pretty beleivable in hers. Here is an intergender match she did with another great worker, JT Dunn. Write-up: bit.ly/1tvdX9ARydeen Hagane: This is a worker I've only been watching very recently. She reminds me a little of the aforementioned Kimber Lee, but is a joshi worker. From what I've seen she is a good foil for the faster female gaijins that tour over there. I think she has a pretty bright future despite only debuting in 2012: bit.ly/1pqqsiOAlso, while he's not a woman as far as Drew Gulak goes I definitely agree with OVO 40 hunched over like he 80 you should check him out. If CZW isn't going to go with a hardcore bad ass kind of wrestler like MASADA as champ then Gulak makes the most sense to me. Although Biff Busick has had a respectable run so far.

She also had a killer match against AR Fox at a Beyond secret show earlier this year.

Shame he's injured. Anyone know when he'll be back?

Here are a few more names from around the world of indie wrestling worth knowing. Emil Sitoci: I don't think he has been mentioned in this thread yet, but he is awesome. Perhaps he hasn't been mentioned because it is a given most indie fans know him due to his decade plus career, but I'm sure a few have yet to check him out. He has worked for some major European promotions like WXW and also come to the United States and worked a number of American promotion including CZW. I think this year the only promotion he has worked for is Dutch Pro Wrestling. At any rate back in 2010 he had a match with Jimmy Jacobs that ended in one of the best counter exchanges to end a match that I've ever seen. Period. Write-up: bit.ly/1vuvksVBenny Factor: An Australian talent trained in part by Booker T. Another one of his trainers is Orlando Jordan of all people. He has some good basic technical skill, but is loaded with potential, the best of which has yet to be seen. Write-up: bit.ly/1q3VQAZSammii Jayne: She is a Scottish wrestler who has mainly only worked for Scottish Wrestling Entertainment. However, she has also worked for Fierce Females, which is an all female Scottish promotion (neat!). Jayne has displayed some dark elements in her promos that remind me a little of "Crazy" Mary Dobson (another indie talent you should definitely check out). Write-up: bit.ly/1B6Hbh4

Rocky Romero Has been a staple on new japan for years, even burned their bridge with them but they still keep bringing him back, has worked on aaa, pwg, former roh tag champion too, has even fought once in mma (during the last years of inoki in njpw he made everyone have a shoot fight, most of the boys lost). I think he also helped to train John Cena on upw. AZUCAR BABY!

Some more. J-Busta: A great natural heel here who as Paige would say has a face you just want to punch. Shame he never goes outside of the Northeast. Heck, he barely goes outside of Connecticut and seems to be wrestling less on top of it. I first got turned onto him by watching CTWE when it was still around and that is probably where he has done his best work to date. Write-up: bit.ly/1lfZyvBLa Pulga: Probably the hottest young talent in Spain right now. He has held the Revolution Championship Wrestling title there and also wrestles for Pro Wrestling Zero 1. he dude is still in his early wrestling and his been performing since 2009. Definitely a guy high flying fans will enjoy especially if you like the super flippy floppy guys. Write-up: bit.ly/1pYJSeWAxel Tischer: Whenever I hear of great German wrestlers brought up I always see Big Daddy Walter mentioned, but never this guy. What is odd about this is that some of the best matches each man has had has been against each other. Walter is a hoss and while he is agile when it comes to doing speedier moves Tischer is tough to touch. He's still pretty young too so he could blow up if he gets a little more well traveled. Drake Younger. From what I've heard, he's already signed with WWE, but as a referee rather than a wrestler. If Younger gets to wrestle in WWE and isn't held back, he could easily become the next Bryan Danielson.

Masada can wrestle a variety of styles pretty well, but I think one of his trademark gimmicks - sticking skewers into his opponent's head - is boring, requires no talent, barbaric, and slows down matches (in a bad way). As far as CZW champions go, I think Drake Younger is easily the all-around best world champion the company has ever had (and one of the top wrestlers of the past decade or so).

Yeah Drake is the greatest czw champion, I admit that, but I just prefer Masada in my opinion, I disagree with the skewers camel clutch spot, he builds to it, it tells a story to the match, he wrestles using a strategy not just hitting guys with weapons. Another thing that Drake had the edge on Masada is the charisma, drake could engage the crowd more.

Since he's been brought up, I really don't see it when it comes to Drew Gulak. He seems to be someone people in the wrestling business like more than the fans do.
I look at Drew Gulak and I see a guy who isn't nearly as good technically as I'm told he is, a guy who isn't nearly as funny as the people around him. And I'm struggling to see a real personality from him other than "wrestler".
But on a positive note, one tag team I remember seeing here in MI is Bryce Benjamin and Joey Marx, known collectively as Too Sweet. I want to see them get booked more.
Them and Team Tremendous. Dan Barry just might be an indy wrestling god.

He just looks so tiny and underwhelming compared to some of the guys he has worked with.
