The whole PPV "scene" in TNA during those times is where the good stuff is at. Cause back then PPV for TNA was still generating sufficient incomes from it and amidst all the numerous shitty booking that were happening on Impact every week, you could at least count on PPV shows to deliver good wrestling with the talent TNA had. (You just had to stop the tapes before the overbooked main event Jeff Jarrett title match lol). PPV was the lifeblood of TNA around that time and JJ was smart enough to know this and make sure that PPV was must see and at least booked stuff around that.
When EB/Hogan came in, they didn't give a shit, never caring that you had to book storylines so that the payoffs was getting the PPV to get the blowoffs and having matches there that were worthwhile to buy. Of course they hurted PPV just like they did in WCW. I bought several TNA PPV from 2002 to 2009 and it's uncanny to see that at the 2010 mark, I bought like 2 shows from that point on to now.

That was a fun time, I was Sting for Halloween that year oddly enough. I also liked the addition of red to Sting's make-up there.

bfg that year was the culmination of many feuds and start of (sort of) new era for TNA
AJ Styles & Daniels vs LAX - amazing feud, settled in the right way it should (cage). AJ heel turn and rise of LAX as no.1 tag team and feud with AMW
Sting v Jarrett - end of a year long feud, face turn for JJ on his way out after years in main event. Sting turning to darker/hardcore side with starting a feud with Abyss
Kurt Angle - Samoa Joe rivalry starts here, leading to biggest buyrates in company history (Genesis also had first time ever Christian-AJ Styles match which was pretty good)
Sabin beats Senshi to win x-division title after a long chase marred by jackass stunts
where's that TNA?

First full TNA PPV I ever saw.
I'd seen the odd match here and there, but it was the first time I decided to check the whole thing out. It was the build-up hype for Sting, the 'transformation', that got me finally watching.
Still think Sting-Jarrett is booked oddly, though. After this big reappearance and hype, Sting gets cleanly outwrestled for several minutes to start. The rest of the match and that ending cover that up, but it's a weird way to start.
