Cause I just did, for the first time since I was a kid and...it's not bad. Like, I distinctly remember hating it as a young lad, and even being physically disgusted at the thought of my Grandpa drinking DIET Moxie. So my dad got me a glass bottle of the stuff as a joke because I mentioned hating it last week. And now I don't hate it. But I won't actively seek it out, either, at least not until I'm well into my 60s. Cause Moxie's an old person tonic soda pop. Next up on my list of drinks in my fridge to try is Schweppes Passiona, which I ordered on the recommendation of my Aussie pal Duel.

I had one once and thought it was alright, nothing I would go out of my way to try again. I think it is one of those things that might be an "acquired taste".

My father loves the stuff.
Me? It's not too shabby as long as it's in the glass bottles with real sugar.

Never tried Moxie, but I did manage to track down a bottle of grape Nehi about ten years ago. To this day, I still regret it.

Man, I entered this thread expecting it to be some sort of new weird sexual act. Mildly relieved.

I drank it a bit about 5 years ago. It was.......fine. Definitely a soda that you can drink casually, versus the kind you go through quickly because it's like water.
I've always wondered - is Moxie what Dr. Pepper and/or root beer taste like? Because it's been a very long time since I've had either Dr. Pepper or root beer, and I hated them and don't want to try them to compare tastes...

Because it's been a very long time since I've had either Dr. Pepper or root beer, and I hated them and don't want to try them to compare tastes... All 3 things have completely different tastes. Dr. Pepper is perhaps even more unique than Moxie, but is hit or miss with a lot of people I know. Root Beer depends on the brand, because I've had some amazing root beer and I've had some garbage root beer, as well.

I've been able to try Moxie in Vegas thanks to the RocketFizz stores (basically bringing a bunch of regional/lesser sodas in the area). I quite like it. It's bitter sure, but I've been a fan of bitter things.

Never tried Moxie, but I did manage to track down a bottle of grape Nehi about ten years ago. To this day, I still regret it. Really? I came across a store selling Grape Nehi (along with a few other weird and old-time sodas) a couple of weeks ago when I was in Lancaster. I bought a bottle but haven't gotten around to trying it yet. I figured it was just grape soda banking on a retro-nostalgia name. What about it made it such an unpleasant experience?
