f***ING OUCH. What a dumb spot. I know it's Hardy and loldrugs but why would you ever agree to take that? You got kids, Hardy. I'm sure they would like their daddy to be able to somewhat walk 10 years from now.
Don't get me wrong, it helped what was already a good match but man, his body just bouncing off the steps like that was disgusting.

If you insist on having a spot like that, at least save it for a PPV. That was f***ing crazy, if he had been just a little off he could have been paralyzed for life. And it all wasted on a random episode of Impact.

And it all wasted on a random episode of Impact. Disagree with that entirely. Well, not the part about saving it, but this definitely wasnt a random episode of impact. In many ways, this was a show up there in importance with their top PPVs. New York TV debut, branding of a "new era", last ditch effort to get Spike to bring you back, etc. You could make an argument that these tapings are bigger than Bound for Glory in the grand scheme of things, and this is the show that kicked those tapings off. If there was a show to save some insanity for, this was probably it.

I still think it was a dumb spot that shouldn't have been done but if you had to do it on a TNA show, this was the TNA show to do it on.

That spot really shouldn't have been done at all. I hate to think what could have happened if he hadn't landed flat on those steps.

Jeff won't stop taking dangerous and stupid bumps until he doesn't get up from the one that finally puts him down. He's not the type of person who thinks about tomorrow so he's not planning to be mobile and relatively pain free in his 50's. He's the living embodiment of YOLO which is scary for a pro wrestler with a history of drug abuse from years of hardcore bumping.

While I do think that it was a ridiculous bump(even for Jeff) I will say that TNA's ultra light schedule is really helping him out as far as recovery time. He had to work 3 or 4 nights in a row and then take weeks off(with maybe a house show here and there) until the next set of tapings. If he was taking bumps like this with the WWE schedule he'd be dead by now, no hyperbole.

It's daft. He's had a history in injuries and drug abuse as a result, but keeps doing it. And he really doesn't need to these days, he's enough of a name that he can slow down a bit and still draw.

On the next Impact we shall see the debut of his new character-Pillow, because that is about all he will be able to sit on after taking that ridiculous spot.

I have a feeling that was his idea. Not that it makes it any better, but yeah, that was a bit on the rough side.
I'm sure the Jeff Hardy of 2025 will be looking at the Jeff Hardy of 2014 in disgust.

Apparently he said afterwards that the ring steps have more give to them than the six sided ring.

There is no big screen in that building. Only like 1/4th of the audience even got to appreciate it, because he did it in a spot outside the ring

Looks like there is some kind of cushioning on the steps? Makes the spot/bump slightly less idiotic, but not much.

Yeah, the top step is a sheet of metal laid over the frame instead of being one solid piece. I thought it was a pad as well until watching the show, you can see it better on TV than the video that came from.

Yeah, upon closer examination I see you're right. That actually makes it even dumber than "just" landing on one piece of the steps. Jeff Hardy is crazy, and in other news, water is still wet and the earth still revolves around the sun.

If so, Hogan was smart to drop it. I believe both the ropes are tighter and the mat has less give (presumably because of the extra reinforcement required to support six ring posts). AJ Styles and Austin Aries have both been quoted as saying the six sided ring is harder to bump on than the "regular" ring (I can't find the interviews though sorry ) Oh and my original post was meant to be a joke based off this
