I wonder how many people trashing this bump are the same ones who say thing about Jeff Hardy going through motions/just cashing a check... He went all out on what is supposed to be a very big tv show/live show for TNA. Bravo for caring and wanting to put on a show for your fans even if everyone around seems to think you don't have to. The problem isn't Hardy putting in effort in his performance. He's not RVD and numerous former WWF/WCW/ECW folks slumming and half assing for cash in TNA. The problem is Hardy is still doing the same wild bumps that caused him to become a druggie and his body got almost 2 decades worth of hardcore bumps built up. There are other ways to entertain the fans without having to crash and burn in every match. I don't know how entertaining I find Jeff Hardy without him doing big bumps.

No one is saying you can't enjoy him but that's not the point people are making. I don't want to see a guy kill himself for a wrestling company, let alone TNA in 2014 of all places. It'd be one thing if this was the main event of WM where a guy can be immortalized long after they retire through the power of videos but TNA is ass cheeks at promoting themselves and their history. 5 years from now, most people aren't gonna remember this. It'll just be another dumb spot in a long line of ones for Hardy. It's unnecessary for Hardy at this point. He's not some young pup, he's a made star. He could not jump off a single ladder for the rest of his career and he would still be over as shit. Wrestling is a business of getting the most out of the least, not the other way around.

It just seems like a double edged sword. People are saying, don't go out there and try to have a great match on what TNA hopes to be a very big show in their history, and more importantly for their future...because it is only TNA. If their stars are not going out and trying to perform to the best of their abilities, they will never even have the slimmest of chances to take even steps in the right direction. More people will see/remember it than if he was to do it at Bound For Glory right now anyway.

He can take bumps that stand out and add to the match. Not a problem. But his crazy bump last Thursday was brushed off so the ECW retreads can threaten Dixie and put EC3 through a table. Big moves mean nothing when the impact is treated like a non event.

There's surely some middle ground between half assing it and doing a spot that's just kinda dumb right?
