I do think his accent will cause some problems but his ring work will more than make up for it. I also agree that he needs a hair cut, it is X Pac levels of nasty. Doesn't have to be short but just take some of the 90s out of it.

If I can be serious for a second, I think Neville has a lot of potential, he just needs to add something extra. The fact is he does not have much of a character. Even in the time he has had to talk on NXT, his persona is very bland. He is a typical babyface: he gives it his all, he obeys the rules, etc. He is also a high flyer and British. He just needs to stand out more because the time he has on NXT to show who he is just won't be there. He does not need a gimmick, just a more definable personality. This is what separates certain high flyers. This is why guys like Jeff Hardy get over and guys like Evan Bourne sit around in the midcard. Give me a reason to care about you.

I just assume WWE will give him some gimmick like "well, this is at least one Geordie that gravity forgot" and put him with Rusev.

Sorry. he is not marketable in the slightest.

He will likely never be the the future of WWE, but he IS over already. Those NXT fans dig him, and on the main roster he'd probably be at least as over as guys like Kofi.

I don't know if I'd use NXT as a barometer on one's ability to get over in WWE.

No, but I was stating that he WAS over, because Cheap Heat Barrett said he would never get over.

I think he would get over in WWE because WWE fans always seem to really dig guys with that kind of high flying ability in the midcard. Nothing to do with NXT.

I haven't been all that impressed with the guy from what I've seen on NXT. And this is his in ring stuff, not even his unmarketable look and thick accent. He just seems like a guy torn between trying to wrestle a serious match and wanting to be a total spot monkey, yet can't decide which. He'll be okay as a guy to throw in a MITB type match for highspots but not much else.

And the fact that he beat Van Dam already made me kinda want to puke. The fact that the announcers didn't even sell it like a big deal made it worse. They were like "And...Adrian Neville just took out Rob Van Dam." Shouldn't that be a massive, career making win for this goof? I know RVD has been a glorified jobber of late, but he shouldn't be losing to guys in NXT.

I still remember that art of wrestling he did, where he opened up about being scared of failure so he never tried to get bookings and how he wanted to change, after that it wasn't so long after he got signed.
Allegedly dunn hates accents, but since he's triple h project he will be protected.

I've only seen his NXT stuff (and only since Arrival, and I've missed a lot the past couple of months), but... I dunno. He seems less like, "Future of the company," and more, "Hopefully less stupid Evan Bourne." Which is a good role to have, he just doesn't strike me as a headlining sort.

Give him Regal as a manager, let Regal do 99% of the talking for him. That solves the problem of his Geordie accent and average mic skills. As for his ears/somewhat strange appearance. Put him in a mask. Masked wrestlers always have a bit of intrigue about them and generate interest. Put him in some of sort of spooky mask, have Regal do the talking and just have him keep going out there doing his high-flying stuff.


Unfortunately, I can see WWE hamstringing him early on by taking away the Red Arrow and giving him some sort of bog standard, generic finisher.

Well....he is. "The Man That Gravity Forgot". With a nickname like that and the stuff Neville can do, he's marketable. Marketable enough to be "future of the company"? Probably not. But he'll get over with ease. Just because you don't like him doesn't make him unmarketable.

I think it has something to do with how little regional variance in accent there is in America



in the UK you have lots of distinctive accents, you can go 30 minutes down the road and the accent is completely different.


Alot of these accents are rough sounding as well.



It's why most British actors put on a fake accent when they go to America. In fact the default "english" accent that exists in Movies and TV is not even a real accent that anyone in this country sounds like in real life


Hell in the WWE Paige has been going out of her way to hide her accent recently and hers isn't even that bad.


In America the accents vary a lot less and most of them are more neutral sounding. Hell even the strongest texas accent is pretty tame by our standards.
