Because of Russo Spike prohibits man on woman violence on IMPACT. I can understand why Spike would be not to happy about Vince Russo coming back, just because he was successful one time he thinks he can use the same formula of sex, violence, and pointless swerves not realizing the attitude audience has grown up and moved on His reputation is so bad on so many levels. Why keep bringing him back?? It's because TNA has this naive expectation that Russo will be able to "capture lightning in a bottle" once again. He will never, I repeat, NEVER be able to replicate his past success because he's surrounded by idiots that don't understand how to keep him on a leash. If this revelation splinters the relationship between TNA and Spike TV, then so be it. TNA is riding on nothing more than the stale farts of Bully Ray, Dixie Carter and Tommy Dreamer at this point. In fact, I wish Dreamer would grow a pair and openly shit on TNA. Someone has to.

Yes, I think njpw ended their relationship with WCW after this, he also did an interview basically stating that under his "administration" never would a Japanese or Mexican wrestler would be on the main event. The end of that relationship didn't just hurt the Japanese wrestlers: there were a few Vanilla Midgets who saw one of their big escape hatches sealed shut there. It can't have been just Kevin Sullivan getting the book that caused the Radicalz to jump: the ability to wrestle in Japan as part of WCW's arrangement with NJPW was a major incentive for them to stay with WCW. Once that was gone, WWE started looking far better, I suspect. The complicating issue that's staying the roster's hand with TNA is that there's nowhere for them to go. TNA has become as good for their reputations as Russo's reputation has been for any promotion he's had his claws into since his WWF stint. If TNA loses its TV contract with Spike because of Russo's involvement and, more important, TNA's handling of his most recent involvement, at minimum TNA will have a very hard time negotiating a TV deal with anyone above some community access channel, simply because they can't be trusted not to go behind their contract partners' backs. The only reason I can think of for Russo to continue having a job _anywhere_ in wrestling is that he knows where the bodies are buried. He's got something on somebody in TNA's head office.

You forgot the worst part... they gave him a f***ing Kato from the Green Hornet gimmick... I know of the movie but never seen it, I don't remember much of okada's gimmick, I'll watch it on youtube, was it offensively stereotypical? Someone else will have to talk about the Green Hornet in general... but I believe Kato is the hornet's sidekick / driver. Also it is most famously played by Bruce Lee in the 1960's show. All I remeber about Okato (yes that's what they called him) he dressed like the character and was Joe's buddy... I think he was the one that supplied the footage for Joe of Pope D'angelo trying to buy a pitbull puppy for the purpose of dogfighting.

Just watched "Okato" on youtube against pope....Russo being Russo, either he really hates Japanese folks, or he thought that dressing a hot prospect as a crazy 88 reject was money...f*** poor okada he must've hated his us adventure; wonder if Russo is going to dress Sanada as Sulu.

So... is TNA secretly hiring Russo to be a ninja-writer and he outs himself to the wrestling press a LOLTNA moment or has it transcended that meme?

I find the TNA situation interesting more and more. Not only because if this but the talent stand point. I just watch a few recent interviews with Bully Ray. he came off as honest but I really do question that once his contract is up if he staying. He speaks high about TNA as a company but not so much on Dixie Carter. He really did expose Dixie as a business person but praised the company overall.

TNA is using the Costanza method and are going out in one final flame of incompetence apparently.

I don't really think a giant tv channel would even know who writers are for a show. Muto knowing and having heat? Ok. He is a wrestling person and I get that. I just doubt spike gives a single s*** who has the pencil for a wrestling show. Then again, I have zero inside knowledge, so what do I know

They were incredible morons trying to hide this because no one believed. You mean Vince Russo, the guy who apparently doesn't watch wrestling, all of a sudden knows in incredible detail TNA storylines to the point where he can write a weekly blog about them? Gee, I guess that's just because he chose to watch the product again

Pitch a show to a channel and it has a critically and financially established writer behind it? Fantastic, makes it more likely to be shown.Replace that writer with a complete and utter known hack? Channel won't be so supportive.

They're trying their very best to get kicked off the network, with this Russo story and Dixie being put through a table. A wrestling company trying their best to be thrown off Spike TV? Psssh, ECW did it first.

Dixie should hire me. I'm nothing but complimentary of TNA's policies on here so I'd clearly be a good choice.

Then again, I have zero inside knowledge, so what do I know According to Cornette back in the day, tna creative (he, Jarrett, Dutch, Kevin Nash sometimes, and Russo) had regular meetings with Spike tv executives, and apparently when Russo was doing a power point presentation, or something else, to the execs, it contained asinine ramblings and Russo never bother to do a spelling check, this happened on several meetings, I know Cornette isn't objective when talking about Vince but, I can't think of another reason why spike tv dislikes him.

I'm convinced the only way Russo still can have a job with TNA is he has photos of Dixie participating in a donkey show.

Based on that channel/broadcasters standard and practices it's normal to allow bleeping of words or pixelating certain things (like say on a COPS episode someone is throwing up, SPIKE decides that's no good so they edit that out or blur it...that kinda thing). When it comes to original content, yeah the network is usually pretty involved in the day to day on goings of the show. Not saying in this case that SPIKE is booking IMPACT or anything that hands on, but they know who is producing and writing and what the content of the shows are. Wouldn't be a shock that there is a Spike rep at most if not all of their TV Tapings.

Ideally I wouldn't have Russo or Cornette involved in TNA booking right now, they're both woefully out of touch with modern wrestling sensibilities- but at least Russo's badness is never boring.
It's like choosing between getting punched in the face once or having all your nails slowly pulled out.

So TNA hired a guy that neither their biggest working partner in Japan nor the network they're in seem to like. Do they hate money or something or are they trying to kill the company on purpose now? Also one that hasn't brought anything to the table in over 15 years.
