Fox Kids vs Kids WB as the other rivalry of my childhood, alongside WCW vs WWF Ah, you too lived through the rivalry as well. It was especially intense for me(and probably for you too) since I didn't have satellite or cable until 2004, long after both blocks had ended. Thus, I didn't have Nickelodeon or CN to watch and further muddy up my TV watching habits. Remember when One Saturday Morning came along? Sweet Jesus, the micromanaging of time and shows my sister and I had to do to watch everything we wanted on Saturday Mornings was the most stressful thing in my life as a little kid. Good times, great memories though.

Fox Kids vs Kids WB as the other rivalry of my childhood, alongside WCW vs WWF I still don't appreciate how Pikachu gave away the results of Fox Kids shows. Very unprofessional.

Pikachu with Tony Schiavone's voice: So it seems like Seadromon has defeated Miromon in the Digimon season finale. *Snickers* Yeah...like that'll put the trading cards in your hands. Anyways, get ready for 4 more episodes of Ash and I wandering almost aimlessly in the forest while we're slightly inconvenienced by Team Rocket. Stick around! *cue cheesy rock music outro*

The Rock: "You think you impress Rock, because you were turned to One Saturday Morning, and watched a show called Pepper Ann?!" Jericho: "SHE'S MUCH TOO COOL FOR SEVENTH GRADE!"

Fox Kids probably could have won the war were it not for the X-Men Kliq trying to hold younger talent like Tai and Agumon down.

Sweet Jesus, the micromanaging of time and shows my sister and I had to do to watch everything we wanted on Saturday Mornings was the most stressful thing in my life as a little kid. Good times, great memories though. Same including not having cable till later so Saturday morning cartoons, as well as their replays on the weekdays, were my shows. Fox Kids, Kids WB and One Saturday Morning don't make perfect analogues to WCW and WWF, but there are a lot of fun similarities. Fox Kids was like WWF in it's Hulkamania heyday. They had original shows like Eek! the Cat and Bobby's World that I loved, but also Warner Bros. properties like Batman, Tiny Toons with Spielberg's Amblin also coming up with Animaniacs. Then Kids WB is formed and those shows jump networks. Fox Kids still had it's originals and the Marvel shows like X-Men and Spider-man. But it really relied on Power Rangers and even Beetleborgs to challenge Kids WB with Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain and Superman. They become like WCW in that instance, but don't actually surpass Fox Kids. Even more so when they piss off the Pinky and the Brain staff by making them add Elmyra. Peter Hastings leaves and helps build One Saturday Morning which, I remember this very well, beat Fox Kids, first time that they are not number one on Saturday mornings in ratings. Kind of like when WCW talent got pissed off and went to ECW. Well if ECW became a long standing wrestling promotion. That success was short lived. Power Rangers in Space was a big hit and was renewed for 1999 with Power Rangers Lost Galaxy which was very successful initially. Kids WB changed the game though when they got Pokemon. Already made Anime could be dubbed now and air on the network. Digimon followed suit on Fox Kids. The New Batman Adventures and Superman ended on Kids WB. The end of Saturday Morning Wars really came when Disney bought Fox Family which controlled Fox Kids. Even though ABC still had Saturday shows and Fox put out Fox Box, then rebranded 4Kids it was no longer an institution by the mid-2000s.

Good lord that ad is epitome of everything that was mid-90s kids TV. All that was missing was the portion where they explain a contest where I have to send a small essay or answer to a question to some weird P.O. Box address in LA in the hopes of winning a shopping spree to Toys R' Us.

Ask parents permission before going online

Meanwhile, NBC was catering to the teenage demographic with Teen NBC & CBS was that independent promotion who used whatever they could find for their forgettable crap.
I should also make the case that Kids WB stumbled upon Pokemon. Before they got their big break, they were working the UPN circuit in front of audiences of 40 children. Oh, and the promoter kept them playing the same 3 episodes over and over again.
