King Kong Bundy that thing was like a rubber brick that was perfect for tossing at people.

So many classics and the lore of the latter series' grow every year, despite being finished 25 years ago.
Growing up I wanted the latter few series (87-89) so much because I never had them and could never find them, even at the flea markets. When I finally got them, they didn't disappoint. I think the detail got a lot better but then again, the outfits had gotten more flashy.
The earlier series' hold more to heart, for me, as it represents the origins of the big 80s boom. It represents the Rock 'N wrestling connection, the wrestling album, the early days of PPVs and big events that were just as much spectacle as they were athleticism. Hogan, Piper, Snuka, Orndorff, Orton, Sheik, Volkoff & Blassie, Albano, Junkyard, Studd & Heenan, Andre and others represented that time period.
We must grow up, and childhood isn't necessarily all that great, but certain memories represent a good, quality, feeling that things will be OK.

My childhood consisted of having matches with these things all damn day. I had the blue steel cage to put up on my ring when things got super serious. Bundy was awesome.

Iron Sheik. I would make him cheat via pointy boot all the time.

Wow, it's so hard to choose a favorite. I only ever owned about 9 of them, and those 9 had many a match.
I love these figures so hard that I've given thought to trying to collect them off eBay, but I don't know what I would do with them once I had them.
One time I traded my King Kong Bundy for a school mate's Jesse Ventura, and I still regret it.

King Kong Bundy that thing was like a rubber brick that was perfect for tossing at people. I had One Man Gang, same thing. It was a f***ing weapon. I turned my JYD into a Kamala using model car paint, and I was a huge JYD fan and not so much of a Kamala fan. I guess I thought JYD's face needed a rest or something. I had a King Harley Race one, it sucked that you couldn't remove his coat. I had Strike Force Santana, who had rounded feet soles so he couldn't be made to stand. I also had a Strike Force Martel, and something happened to his non-pointing hand, I think I ate it. I had Iron Sheik and I loved it, why? Because the way he was posed, you could do great neckbreakers and suplexes with one arm, and great DDT's with the other. I also had that big Hogan figure in empty rubber. As a matter of fact, it has been sitting on my desk for a decade, plus.

My favorite was Billy Jack Haynes, until some neighbourhood kid stole him and used White-Out to paint a bra and panties on him

I had quite a few, favorite in terms of how I used them, obviously Bret Hart. Though my Warlord figure eventually got good use. I even had the ones no kid would want, the referee, Vince, Okerlund, a few managers; Blassie, Slick.....Traded a few of my Hasboros away as a kid to get a few more, Honky and Corporal Kirshner.
I should dig them out of my parents place and play again.
Though the worst is easy......Rick Rude. I was a decently imaginative kid, but Rick had to job. It's fault for having his f***ing hands down his pants rather than a decent where he could some move......

My favorite was SD Jones because 1). he had 2 versions with a red and yellow shirt; 2). He just LOOKED like he could pull out an upset at any moment, with that huge grin they gave him and his fists pumped; and 3). I could ensure said upset by having him beat Hogan in the LJN ring I had at home.

Randy Savage was my favorite just for the look of the figure. When it came to playing with them I had two favorites. Paul Orndorff because he could get just about anybody in the backbreaker in his pose and Ricky Steamboat because he could slap the iron claw on anyone. Haha.

Rick Martel and The British Bulldogs were my favorite as a kid. All three were consistently in my main events.

Did LJN ever make smaller figures? I remember when I was 4 or 5, so around 1986-87 I got 2 pack of wrestling figures one was Hillbilly Jim the other I don't remember who it was other than it was another good guy, which annoyed me since that meant I couldn't make them fight. I'm sure they were LJN, considering the time period, but I remember them being smaller than the big LJN's. I've searched the internet and I've never been able to figure out which other figure I had. Apparently there was a 2 pack with Hogan and Hillbilly, and that could've been it, but I remember them being smaller than the usual LJN figures, like closer in size to the Hasbro figures that came later. Of course, that was 25+ years ago so my memory is not that great.

Of course, that was 25+ years ago so my memory is not that great. They made thumb wrestlers, bendies and strechies, but no other actual figures. The Thumbs and bendies were just a tad bigger than a Star Wars figure and the stretchies were about the same size as a regular LJN. Outside of that, they made poseable 10" or 12" (I forget) of Hogan, Piper and possibly Warrior. My favorite? The rarest of the rare.... That's sort of cheating, as that wasn't LJN (it was Hasbro), nor WWF My favorite was Bundy (and was pissed one Christmas when he was #1 on my wish list and "Santa" gave it to my brother instead, not realizing it in their...er, his, attempting to distribute the gifts evenly between us. Beyond him, tops were Steamboat, Piper and Steele. Desperately wanted Kamala and OMG, but by the time they came out, the local stores had stopped carrying much of the LJN stuff.

I looked up the bendies, and I think that's what is was, because there was a Hillbilly Jim bendie and apparently they did release 2 packs. Looking at the list of the other bendies I still have no clue who the other one was. For many years I thought it was Bossman, because I remember the person was in some kind of suit or something, but when I had the figures it would've been way before Bossman was in WWF. Looking at the list of other bendies it must've been either Corporal Kirshner or Captain Lou. Either one of those packed with Hillbilly Jim sounds like quite the sucky two pack.
