Why would I need to re-evaluate why I watch something? Because if you hate ppv's like Battleground and you watch anyway there is a problem. Your time and money could be used doing something you find more meaningful Battleground is never going to be a wrestle-mania caliber show. Battleground wasn't even hyped as an important show. There wasn't any over abundance of bad swerves, bait and switch methods, or even bad matches. What was advertised was 9 matches. You got 8 of those matches. Really what else were you expecting? It killed the crowd and disappointed fans who they expect to renew in two months. It's been explained already why that is not a good idea and poor business. WWE can no longer afford to coast like they had under the previous ppv presentation platform. Those days are over. A lot of eyes and potential wallets opening/reopening depend on these shows right now. They need to be in hard-sell mode. They're operating at a significant loss already due to a ton of factors including a lowball TV rights deal that did not even cover their Network start up costs, under-performing Network subscriptions + all the money lost with so many standard PPV providers dropping like flies -- numbers WWE absolutely did not count on losing, as naive as it sounds. They cannot afford a poor renewal period. It will do incredible damage to them financially.

It would have been perfect if he followed up "Maybe I'll stop watching!" with "See you next week!".
And yes, any time HHH goes into his egotistical boomer talk (even if he himself is a Gen-X'er) it gets me all riled up.

First, WWE Network is not failing, it is just not meeting McMahon's inflated expectations. Now PPV sucked, deserved the hate and I think Trips would even admit that if forced to, however, he's a heel and making fun of the fans and what they want has been a staple of heeldom since there first were heels. Shit, I'd say WWE doesn't do stuff like that enough on both sides of the coin. Yeah, see this is why I think HHH knew that Battleground sucked overall. If they really thought it was a good show they wouldn't even have addressed the fans' reaction the way they did. He took on his heel persona to basically admit that the show did suck and he doesn't care because best for business or whatever.

I'm talking as just a guy that has a subscription to the wwe network. Maybe the wwe should do more to get people to subscribe or what ever... but I still say if you are a "smart fan" and you were disappointed by Battleground you either have not been paying attention to the current product, or you love throwing your money away. IMO $10 for Nxt, Mainevent, and a ppv like Battleground is still worth it, but to each their own.

He should have said "what are you going to do? cancel your network subscriptions???......oh wait.....you are???"

Someone explain to me how this promo works: "Grrr, I hate Triple H so much for what he said that I'm gonna throw down $120 bucks a year so I can see him get his comeuppance eventually." That make sense to you? 'Cause for me, if they're gonna put out such a shitty product, I'd much rather stick to getting results from Bleacher Report at no extra charge and save that money for something more worth while, like a burger or something.

Trolling social media that "You'll stop watching" after the company has lost 350 million dollars since WrestleMania...seems kind of stupid to me.
We've lost all this money, let's alienate the fans we have left!

Honestly, I don't think that they care about social media at this point.
If Bryan comes back, he'll probably be relegated to Zack Ryder status. I think that's what they wanted all along.
If they don't evolve, then the WWE will perish in time.

Well, I haven't watched in about a month.
So, HHH can eat a dick.

He should have said "what are you going to do? cancel your network subscriptions???......oh wait.....you are???" My account is suspended because I recently switched cards. I'm not going to bother to update my information because I'm not impressed with the streaming quality on my end. I'm not spending $50 on a Roku box either just to watch it. I'll stick to watching RAW on occasion.

On the one hand I love meta heel Triple H. His trolling us fans is a brilliant thing and the fact that he's getting a reaction shows that it's working. On the other hand wrestling as a business has changed. Yes WWE is the only game in town in terms of wrestling. But they want to be viewed as an entertainment company. In that aspect having the Ex.Vice President of your international company also being an on screen character who attacks your fans may not be the best thing.

We know that he's good at finding talent and rebuilding bridges (see: Bruno). What he's not good at is presenting a professional image.

Yeah I think that's something the company is going to have to address as they move ahead. Yes Vince was a heel in the late 90's. But Vince never attacked the fans for ripping on a shit ppv. That wasn't his character. That seems to be HHH's character and he's good at it. But how does that help the company when it comes to its public image?

I honestly doubt they're going to lose any money over this. If someone is truly willing to cancel their subscription just because a heel said something mean in a promo, they probably already pulled it the last time a heel insulted their local sports team.

This. Saying you'll cancel because the mean guy was mean and I wanted to see my favorites and did but they didn't do what I wanted them to do and the mean guy sleeps with the bosses daughter and buried Booker T and beat my favorites and I just wanna see my guys and if I don't then I'll just cancel and show them who's boss...... is just as ludicrous as saying I'll buy an extra subscription for every person on the board who proves they cancelled because their favorite guys aren't pushed.

What was advertised.I mean you mostly got a fight between ambrose and rollings, which is building to summer slam. I mean if you are going to get all butt hurt about this your money is probably better spent doing something else. This wwe ppv is kinda par for the type of ppv it was(basically filler for the bigger Summer Slam). Is it worth your money? That depends... but to be expecting more is kinda dumb..

THAT DURN HHH
HHH should be a new TV character. Everyone could get behind a HHH villian. Wouldn't you boo that? I would. We're in a smarky world, f*** it.

They are already losing money and a lot of it on the Network, part of me today thinks that this was HHH's acknowledgement saying 'Yeah, Battleground sucked'
