Most of them haven't been wrestling for as long as he was, and even when he came into WWE, he had bad knees. Okay. I mean, I know wrestling is physically demanding, but it sounds like CM Punk is in awful physical condition after wrestling and I wonder if that might just partially be specific to him or most wrestlers have it that bad sooner or later. Everyone gets permanent body damage from wrestling, and I've never heard anyone say otherwise. It's not always major stuff like Edge, but there's always something. Look at Jericho. Never (eeeeeeeeeeeever) missed any time in WWE due to injury/surgery, but look at his gear next time you see him wrestle. He wears giant braces on both knees, and has since the back half of his SRS run. That's result of permanent body damage which just comes with the territory.

I'm genuinely fine if he comes back, fine if he doesn't. Punk's in that area where I'm happy to see him wrestle and promo but not desperate if he's not around. That's probably a good thing.

He will be back. Perhaps not to wrestle, but he will be back. A guest promo at a Chicago Raw or something.

Good for Punk, keep your health, you've given a lot to the fans already.

I don't, it's hard to miss someone when it feels like they aren't gone. There's literally a story on Punk every day or a thread somewhere and a chant every week.

if anything , this confirms at some point he will be back - my prediction, it will be in the 2015 rumble I wouldn't hold my breath on any particular dates, but this video does indeed lighten the spirit for me and gives me the assurance that he's not bitter toward WWE in any way, like I may have speculated. I'd like to see one last run from him, he's still in his prime as far as age goes, but then again he stated in the past that once he's done, he's done, and Punk seems like he's very grass rooted in his beliefs.

Pretty sure him and Lars Frederiksen have been friends long before CM punk blew up as a "celebrity", considering Lars is the front man for Rancid, one of the biggest punk bands out there, I would imagine it wasn't hard for Phil to network out from there. Why do you keep calling him Phil? Seriously? In fairness in this particular discussion it was relating to the fact that Punk is friends with musicians not because he is CM Punk, but because he is Phil Brooks - Apparently Sometimes Nice Guy In Real Life. It's not one of these 'I'M NO MARK, THANKS, RIGHT PHIL BROOKS?' IWC things. Or at least not in this thread.

I'm convinced this is Punk's WWE Future: A couple key injuries will occur and the WWE will send a dumptruck full of cash to his house and he'll return for 2-3 months to fill a massive gap in the main event.

Glad to see he is looking relaxed and healthy. As much as I disliked him walking out on his contract (how in the blue hell do you still get paid when you do that, btw ?) and his fans I am sure that in the fullness of time he will be back. Before he walked out on his fanbase he looked plain worn out.

Glad to see he is looking relaxed and healthy. As much as I disliked him walking out on his contract (how in the blue hell do you still get paid when you do that, btw ?)....Before he walked out on his fanbase. I totally agree with the notion that he walked out on his fan base. He wrestled in the matches he was booked in and wrestled in the PPV's he was advertised for. He met with his employer and was granted permission to leave. He has never no showed an event and fulfilled his duties. Due to circumstances no one knows he decided to walk away and Vince is apparently supportive of that. He didn't walk out on anyone, he did what he felt he had to do physically and mentally and I don't believe he deserves criticism for that. If more people would do what Punk/Jericho/HBK did I honestly believe wrestling wouldn't have such a dark history (Benoit, Von Erichs, Hennig, Barr, Eddie and on and on and on......) I went to an everclear concert a while back. The event wasn't promoted very well and they sold under 300 tickets for the show (in a 4000 seat venue). Only reason I even knew the event was going on was because a friend of mine was playing in the opening band. The promoter didn't advertise at all and basically no one knew the concert was going on. Still, some people paid money to see them play. They played 3 songs and then walked off stage. To me that is walking out on your fans. Their fans paid to see them and they didn't deliver. To his credit Art Alexakis did come back on stage and play an acoustic set that was pretty good. He also apologized and said what had happened.

I am of two minds about CM Punk's and his situation with WWE: part of me commends him and feels he should serve as a role model for many future young wrestlers because A. he was smart about his money and did not blow it all on partying and extravagances that he is perfectly happy without, and B. if there is any one thing a successful man should know, it is when to stop-and he decided to stop while he was young and healthy enough to pursue other avenues.
On that same note, I feel that future wrestlers should take note of how Punk ended his relationship with WWE as the way NOT to do it. It is always better to let a cooler head prevail and to not burn the bridge behind you-throwing a temper tantrum and storming out doesn't do you or anyone else any good. Even when your grievances are 100% legit, it is still best to be mature and level headed about it.
Nuff said.
