Well, in the Expanded Universe I think a few hundred survived. But Diznee already shat on the whole Expanded Universe earlier this summer so who knows. I guess as many survived as much as they see they need per episode and season. If they need a spike in ratings and interest then *poof* another Jedi survived. And there can be however many Jedi as needed. There were upwards of ten thousand at one point. There were thousands of Sith at one point as well. The Rule of Two only applied to Sith between around 1000BBY and after 50ABY. But since they're such an untrustworthy organization there really is nothing stopping anyone from being a Sith or calling themselves a Sith. And again, if Diznee wants more Sith Diznee gets more Sith. I really loved how they shat on the one hundred plus books I've read over the years. I don't think it's a big problem because it's a galaxy with FTL travel. There are at least as many planets as there are people. For all the purging that the Sith and the Empire might want there to be, you can never exterminate everyone. There's always a space station, a garbage scow, an abandoned mine or something that someone can hide in. And there's other force-sensitive orders. Not everybody is a jedi or sith. The EU issue is a little frustrating for good things, but IMO the bad of the EU outweighs the good. It had become so nebulous and unrestricted that it was full of plot holes, pointless alien species, superfluous stories, publicity stunt deaths, etc. that were pulling everything down. And I liked how unrestricted it could be. I'd rather see a movie with the same lore, universe and technology we''re all familiar with that's not tied down by the same characters. Hence why I still think Knights of the Old Republic is the pinnacle of Star Wars.

Hence why I still think Knights of the Old Republic is the pinnacle of Star Wars. KOTOR was and is one of my favorite games I've ever played. A pretty cool story and what were at the time nearly revolutionary graphics and voice acting, carried on the shoulders of some fine gameplay. Like I said, there were absolutely some positives of the EU that will only be restored if Disney says they're pertinent. If Disney says KOTOR was canon, which they can certainly do, that'd be an interesting choice and I'd be behind it 100 percent. Stories like the Yuuzhan Vong are problematic precisely because they were such big parts of the overall Star Wars universe. A lot of Star Wars fans either (A) Never heard of the plot at all and know nothing about it, or (B) Never bothered reading up on it. That makes it difficult to actually utilize something like that as an integral part of the story. Star Wars is a film franchise first and foremost, and if the Vong invasion isn't rendered in film, many people will not know about it, not care, or not want it to be authentic and therefore not believe it. As much as I enjoyed the Dark Forces story and the Jedi Knight games, I recognize that many SW fans never played them or heard about them, and so their "real" relevance to the overall story was minimal, even before the EU got canned.

A sardonic rogue Jedi with a shoulder pad who prefers guns over lightsabers. It's like meeting an old friend again. The ponytail is a poor substitute for a beard though. Also I appreciate that the villain (or at least the primary villain so far) isn't a Sith, or an alien or a robot, he's just a dude. If it wasn't for the snazzy uniform he'd be just a jumped up regular stormtrooper but that's enough to be a threat.

just got done binge watching The Clone Wars, and its actually given me mixed feelings about Rebels. Clone Wars was a show able to be enjoyed by adults despite its target audience being kids, because it wasn't exactly a kid-friendly show. you had a Jedi being tortured to death, kids from across the galaxy being captured and put on a remote island to be hunted for sport, prisoners being executed in an attempt to get a Jedi to talk, Darth Maul decapitating a guy, following a recurring group of Clone troopers just so they can be kill off one by one throughout the series, etc. for some strange reason, i doubt Disney is going to make their show that dark.
another problem are the Stormtroopers, especially after this week's episode. so far the Stormtroopers have been largely inept and goofy, and seem to be put there for comic relief. the Battle Droids in Clone Wars were also inept and goofy, but the difference is that they are the grunts in the loosing side of a war. i mean its hard to buy the Empire as this huge dominant force when their Stormtroopers, the oppressive jackbooted thugs of the galaxy, are repeatedly outsmarted by a 14-year-old in the pilot movie, and then in this weeks episode one of them gets hit in the head by a piece of fruit, knocking him out and causing him to drop his blaster, which goes off and hits another Stormtropper. with soldiers like these i can see why they struck fear in the hearts of citizens all over the galaxy.
lastly there is Tiya, who i'm on the fence about. on one hand she could end up being a cool character, but on the other there is something about a teen girl who looks like she lives at Hot Topic and sticks it to the Empire with graffiti that just doesn't seem "Star Wars".

i'm saying i have a bad feeling about this Dude, I've had a bad feeling since the second that Diznee bought Star Wars. When they shat on the EU this past summer that feeling turned into a reality. I don't mind all the Marvel movies but they've run that shit into the ground and aren't stopping. And they're going to do the exact same thing with Star Wars. In ten years there will probably have been an over saturation of Star Wars that you won't believe. It probably is one of the worst things to happen ever, aside from real-life stuff. But in the world of entertainment or whatever it will crush my soul over and over again. I won't lie to myself. This Rebels show is shit. The Clone Wars had it's moments. There was shit in there for sure but it could be good. This one is just the tip of the iceberg of Diznees f***ing up one of my favorite things.

Pulling a gun in the middle of a swordfight, that was beautiful. Kanan is officially my favorite Jedi.

Just watched the latest episode that finished off the stuff with Seebo and Ezra's parents. I'm really liking this show so far. Kanan and Hera are awesome, while Sabine, Zeb, and Ezra are okay. The Inquisitor is a good villain, but I'm waiting to find out who his master will be. I don't think he meant Palpetine himself.
