I don't play Second Life, but I'm in love with the basic concept. Looks flawed in some aspects (ok, many aspects), so I can't give it full endorsement and devote my free time to it.
The same is true of a horror movie/thriller that has been a recent hit of sorts. I LOVE the concept, but the execution after the first 20-30 minutes leaves something to be desired because of its attempt to appeal to a general type of horror audience.
So, I would love it if somehow Second Life was a little more "grounded" and less fantastical (flying and such, not a fan of) and kept the basic you-can-do-anything-and-be-anyone-here theme as long as it was more based on "real life" capabilities. Take that concept and make the game a massive online community game with a PURGE theme!
364 days out of the year is community and you doing whatever the eff you want. Every year, one 12-hour period in March, the right to purge comes into play. The idea would be to spend your time playing the second life you want, but also planning each year for The Purge. You could be a purger or an innocent and try to just live peacefully and/or defensively. Second Life is pretty massive, so the possibilities here could be pretty awesome. If too many people sought to purge (like I'd imagine they would) there might be enough on the streets and out in the open to just waste each other with a slightly better chance of survival for the peacekeepers.
Yes, I know it's flawed if you pick it apart (hackers and multiple accounts/user fraud). But I would love to be part of a game that was roleplaying AND survivalist, but not continuously both.
So yeah, The Purge massive online roleplaying game.
(I guess we could turn this thread into a "What kind of things could you suggest to make Second Life an amazing game/experience?)
