Didn't know Barrowman was Scottish. Based solely on this new knowledge, I'm now officially in favour of Scottish independence.

More Americans... up in space.
The mass donations idea was pretty good though.

Meh maybe I should watch. Edmonton might be hosting the 2022 Common Wealth games and the 1978 games have been very good to the city.

Someone already posted that. Still a great video. I'm a proud Brit but I think the Commonwealth Games are a massive waste of time and money.

I like the CW Games. Sure, it's not like an Olympics or whatever but it's a really good way particularly for those up-and-coming athletes to get some experience under their belt against better opponents and in front of bigger crowds. It's a good step to take in preperation for the largest tournaments down the road. While at the same time a good way for people to see some of the more famous athletes in action too.

Double Olympic champion Mo Farah has had to pull out of the Commonwealth Games due to failing to recover from an illness in time. He was due to run in the men's 5,000m and 10,000m, the two events he won in London two years ago.
England's Jodie Stimpson has won the first gold medal of the games, the Women's Triathlon. Silver went to Canada's Kirsten Sweetland, bronze to England's Vicky Holland.
