John cena has spent the last 9 and a half years as the top guy. But he's also known for being a workaholic and not getting a break. I believe in the future that guys like reigns and ambrose will alternate as top guys, so they will have a huge load off them and can replace one another Incase someone gets injured. I think it will be great so fans can choose what top guys they like instead of being force fed roman reigns. What do you guys think?

Whether face or heel, The Shield will alternate as top guys the same way Cena/Orton/Batista alternated as top guys in 2005 before Cena ultimately took over.

I got this bad feeling that we still have 5-6 years left of the Cenation Running Wild. Every single guy climbing the ladder now is going to get fed to Cena until the wheels fall off that bus.
However it's not all bad. If you get big enough and survive until the end of the Cena Era, you'll be in a prime spot to possibly get bigger.

And Cena only took over by default because Orton wasn't getting over until he started his Viper gimmick and Batista couldn't stay healthy. I don't see that happening with Reigns/Ambrose/Rollins. If fans accept Reigns despite his limited ring skills, I don't see anything precluding all three from staying at the top.

I hope so, but I think that depends on a few factors. Bryan got injured to soon to see if they were going to CM Punk him or not. That would have said if it were possible for a modern WWE to handle that under Vince.

I could see a top guy by commitee thing. That's usually not their business model, but they seem to have a lot of guys who are great and over, but not at the point where they're going to carry the place on their back.
Cesaro is one of the most exciting wrestlers they've ever had, but his personality isn't super magnetic.
Reigns has this great bad-ass intimidator vibe, but he's lacking in a few areas right now.
Bryan is awesome and as over as anyone, but he's a tiny hippie with a lot of miles on his body.
Ziggler busts his ass, and despite not being a great talker he does a great job of getting the fans to root for him, but he's not really "cool". And he's smallish.
Ambrose is "cool", in his weird way, and is pretty much a complete package. But, by design, his character isn't one that's going to be the center of the business model.
Seth Rollins is very well-rounded, and um...I don't know, maybe he could be that guy? When he turns face, look out. He's kinda small though.
Big E seems to have a personality somewhere in there, looks great and shows a ton of power and athleticism. But he's short, and green, and hasn't found a way to show that personality on the big stage.
Those are the people I see having a shot at being at the top for years. They're all great, but I don't see any of them being the next Cena. A combination of 3-5 of those guys can give wrestling fans everything they could possibly want though.

We all know that Cena is the one undisputed Top Guy no matter what we on the board think, right? Ok that's settled.
With the amount of time left for Cena honestly the next "top guy" might not even be with the company yet. Like Push Val Venis said he could still have a solid 5-6 maybe more years left. Long as he's there he is going to be THE guy. Personally, and this might ruffle some feathers but it's just my opinion, the next top guy isn't even in the company yet.
Right now all signs point to the Reigns Doctrine, but.....i don't think he's "the guy". Future main eventer, sure. Guy that's the global face of the company for 8-10 years or more. Doing media tours, commercials, tv shows, status above the title. Nope.

I'm sure that long-term WWE don't want to be reliant on any one "top guy", it's just too risky for them. They'd rather the brand be the main draw and the best way of doing that would be a group of top guys.
However that's easier said that done, if the crowd truly pick somebody they're likely to reject others being put in their place. Plus if it's not booked correctly it could become an "if everybody is special nob one is" scenario, we've already got a glimpse of the problems that can cause in the last few years of the WHC.

There was just newz that they held off on a Cesaro push that could have pushed itself with how over he was because they wanted to focus solely on a Roman Reigns push.

I believe Cena is going to hit a point where he becomes the marquee gatekeeper a la 2000s Shawn Michaels and eventually a part time special attraction like The Rock/Lesnar.
