Cena soon to Never Give Up "via-satellite"?

There has been a lot of talk within WWE lately about John Cena's movie career. PWInsider noted that some of the wrestlers have joked that Cena will start "bringing it via satellite" soon.
We noted that Cena will be missing several upcoming WWE events due to filming of The Nest and Trainwreck.

There have been people backstage speculating that if Cena's movie work takes off, given how banged up he is, he could be the next one to walk away from WWE for a Hollywood career in the next few years.

You know, I would joke about how unlikely that is but I would have laughed hard in your face if you told me Marvel would cast Dave Batista in a blockbuster where Bradley Cooper plays a Talking Raccoon and Vin Diesal plays a tree.

I don't see Cena making it in Hollywood outside of the WWE umbrella, not as the protagonist at least. He could definitely play the muscle or the right hand of the villain.

(Personally, I just love the idea that one of the possible indirect agents of change in professional wrestling (by virtue of helping to move Cena along and freeing up the top spot for someone else) could end up being Tina Fey. )

I really hope it does take off. Cena has done everything one can do in WWE, and given how banged up he is it could be the best thing for him physically. Like him or not, the dude has given everything he has for over a decade, and deserves to walk away with his health intact.

He just doesn't have the personality. He could be a quiet strong type in a movie, bodyguard or something, but he doesn't have the range of Rocky. He's never going to have a blossoming movie career.

I know you were talking about The Rock/Dwayne Johnson...but for some strange reason I'm now picturing a remake of the movie "Rocky" with Cena playing Mr. Balboa.

Rock's acting ability is really underrated. It's not easy to do what he does. Cena's chances of becoming a big enough star in Hollywood to leave wrestling completely are very, very small.

I hope he is successful for his sake. His body is going to fall apart soon if he keeps going at this rate. He needs to start a more reduced schedule soon if he wants to maintain his health in the long term. He is the Kurt Angle type that will go until he can't go anymore.
