Sting is interesting because he was at his height when he did not wrestle and he did not talk.

The Ultimate Sting Collection, only it doesn't feature any of his best matches. Where are his true classic matches with Ric Flair, Cactus Jack, and Vader? Where is War Games 1992? Where's the Thunderdome Cage Match? Where's the DDP match? Who picked this match listing?? Probably the same person who wants to bank off a future Sting documentary DVD set featuring those matches.

I guess also they're trying not to double (or even triple) dip too much on things. That Starrcade '97 match being the exception and it's just too huge to miss out. I am a bit disappointed some of the matches I'd like aren't on there, but on the flip side they're putting on a lot of rarer stuff that you just don't tend to see around so that's good.
I'd hope we'd get a few more on the Blu-ray too.
As for Sting/Hogan, only decent bout I can remember is that late '95 one on Nitro.

I'm hoping they include that incredible Nitro promo with the creepy kid voice.
Plus-appearance on the Network, video game character, t shirt, and now dvd collection. They have reached some sort of deal but are probably still hammering out the details for an actual tv appearance.

I think Sting/Hogan itself might be a 'wrestling sin.' Their match at Starrcade 1997 still makes me mad to this day. The older I get, the more it pisses me off. When I was younger and when I saw it live, I was so excited running around my house. Looking back and watching it again it is so infuriating. Anyways as a huge Sting fan, I will be buying this and probably anything else they put out. I have already preordered the tshirt.

Same here with me, I was eight at the time and I went crazy when Sting won the title. I was so confused and pissed off though when Hogan got a clean three count and then Bret Hart threw Hogan back in the ring. My Dad said, "That count didn't look fast whatsoever." I remember it being huge that Sting won and my Mom watched the Sting versus Hogan match with us, and she hated/still hates wrestling lol. I cannot believe they could not book that match for Sting to kick Hogan's ass and win clean with the Scorpion Death Lock.

I never liked that Lex Luger won the title a few months prior...especially looking back and knowing how Starrcade ended up. They were clearly building to Sting getting the big moment after all that time of Hogan holding the title. Luger getting the big win before Sting, plus the horrible booking of Starrcade, just messed the whole thing up for me

Disc 4 it details how many times Ric Flair has turned on him. Weird it the DVD ends on 2001, I wonder what happened between those lost years (Flashbacks to victory road 2011)

Hey, I've been a Sting fan since '93, just...just don't get me started on Starrcade '97.

I love that there's a random Sting/Dutch Mantell match on this set. So do I. And if it gives Dutch some extra cash then I'm all for it!

Dutch Mantel is Zeb Colter, right?
I knew he was a manager. Did not know he was a wrestler.

Sting has 15 matches from his WCW career that Meltzer rated a 4 or higher. ZERO of them are on this set. Seriously, what gives? I get that some have been released before on Nitro or War Games comps, but I doubt that the average wrestling fan has an extensive library of wrestling DVDs. Why not make a DVD set that truly is the ultimate collection of Sting matches in order to appeal to more potential buyers? I don't agree with most of this match selection at all.
By the way, here are the 15 matches in questions:
3/27/88 Sting vs. Ric Flair (Clash of the Champions) 9/12/89 Ric Flair & Sting vs. The Great Muta & Dick Slater (Clash of the Champions VIII) 10/28/89 Thundercage Match: Ric Flair & Sting vs. The Great Muta & Terry Funk (Halloween Havoc) 12/13/89 Sting vs. Ric Flair (Starrcade) 2/24/91 War Games: Sting, Brian Pillman & The Steiner Brothers vs. The Four Horsemen & Larry Zbyszko (WrestleWar) 5/19/91 The Steiner Brothers vs. Sting & Lex Luger (SuperBrawl) 11/23/91 Submit or Surrender: Sting vs. Cactus Jack (Power Hour) 5/17/92 War Games: Sting’s Squadron vs. The Dangerous Alliance (WrestleWar) 6/20/92 Falls Count Anywhere: Sting vs. Cactus Jack (Beach Blast) 7/12/92 Sting vs. Big Van Vader (The Great American Bash) 12/28/92 King of Cable Tournament Finals: Sting vs. Big Van Vader (Starrcade) 2/21/93 White Castle of Fear Strap Match: Sting vs. Big Van Vader (SuperBrawl) 2/20/94 Thundercage Match: Sting, Brian Pillman & Dustin Rhodes vs. Steve Austin, Rick Rude & Paul Orndorff (SuperBrawl) 7/30/94 Ricky Steamboat & Sting vs. Ric Flair & Steve Austin (Saturday Night) 4/26/99 Sting vs. Diamond Dallas Page (Nitro)

I definitely hear you, but I think the double/triple dipping thing (Starrcade '97 aside) and hoping that it might be a little motivational boost to the Network could be the considerations here.
This is more like a rare matches/Sting primer with a few big name bouts. I swear they could do a Sting-Vader set standalone.

There's not a full-length documentary? Well, shit. If it goes on Netflix, I don't want just the doc, I want all of the matches!
