Your thoughts on it?
Honestly I liked it initially and even enjoyed the New Breed stuff. Big Show was at his best Heel work IMO here especially with his match against Ric Flair and I liked that later on it became about promoting newer talent. The last year of WWECW was really good and fun TV. Your thoughts?

The last year of WWECW was really good and fun TV. Your thoughts? I watched the show for at least the first year and lost interest soon afterwards. Once Punk went to RAW, I kind of forgot about it and other shows came on that liked more at the same time as ECW aired.

If it hadn't been called ECW it would have been much more successful, that name brought the expectation of an identity and legacy it could never match up to.
Even calling it WCW would have been better.

I think they should've tried to keep some semblance of The old ECW. ECW should've had somewhat different presentation than RAW and SmackDown. The matches should've had a different set of rules. I get they couldn't have hardcore bloodbaths all the time, but maybe the matches should've been No-DQ and no-Countout by default. At the very least, The ECW Title matches should've always been under "Extreme Rules".
I liked the pushing of new talent but it felt kind of weird that ECW was kayfabe equal to RAW and SD but with a very obvious disparity in star power.
What I think ruined the WWECW brand was that pretty much everyone that was associated with the original ECW ended up being released or moved to RAW or SD.

I loved it. Toward the end, It was essentially what NXT is now, a place for younger and floundering talents to find and reinvent themselves.

I liked it. I always thought the WWECW name fans gave it was silly. Vince bought ECW. It was ECW. That said, I get that it prevents confusion.
It was a lot of fun at first, but had most of its good prospects stripped away, and towards the end, was largely barren.
December to Dismember is one of the very worst PPVs that has ever been put out by a major wrestling company. At no point in that was anything beyond the title match and MAYBE the Hardyz match given a moment's thought. There is no way anyone can convince me that it was anything beyond almost an intentional failure of booking.

It was the last time I was able to watch a wwe show in its entirety and would replay it repeatedly until the next week. From its initial incarnation until the end, it was always an entertaining hour of wrestling.

I loved it. Toward the end, It was essentially what NXT is now, a place for younger and floundering talents to find and reinvent themselves. I prefer WWECW to current NXT in that regard. The ECW brand was considered part of the main roster and In kayfabe ECW was equal to the other two brands. ECW didn't carry the connotations of being "the minor leagues". Send a guy like Matt Hardy, Mark Henry, Christian or Chavo to ECW, and it sends the message that they're bolstering the brand with "names". Send a guy like Tyson Kidd or Justin Gabriel to NXT and the message being sent is that he isn't "good enough" for RAW/SD.

Christian getting treated as the face of a brand was pretty fun.

If they still had the brand split, I would like to see it involved with the draft.

2009 ECW is one of the best shows WWE has ever produced. Ever.

I think it would've been nice to end the brand split between RAW and SmackDown and unify the WWE and World Heavyweight Titles while keeping ECW and its champion around. Basically have "WWE" and "ECW".

I loved it.
From the time it debut till it ended there was no more consistently entertaining wrestling show on television. They had 1 hour every week, and they used it to perfection. You knew when tuning into ECW you were getting at least one good match a week (except for the Mania hype show which was main evented by Nikki vs Brie, and consisted of nothing but video packages for Mania).

For the first few months, it was fantastic and lived up to some of ECW's original tone and spirit. Then it had some wilderness years, as the originals dropped off - then it eventually became what the original ECW was TRULY about - giving older talents a last chance to shine and newer talents a place to hone their skills before hitting the big leagues, and then for maybe a year or so (I think maybe 2009 or thereabouts?) it was basically the best show that WWE was putting out.
It had a lot of great wrestling, some great angles, and it brought us Tommy Dreamer finally winning the title again, which brought a tear to my eye.
Absolutely an underrated show, and a lot of its criticisms in its latter years come from people who didn't understand what the original ECW was truly about.

I loved Christian and Matt Hardy's title runs. They were putting on the best matches on TV at the time.

In 2009, the only reason why I didn't give up on WWE was because of ECW and Smackdown that year. 2009 ECW, with Christian, Regal, Goldust, and upstarts like Sheamus and the Hart Dynasty, was one of my favorite shows WWE ever produced.

ECW Champion Jack Swagger was awesome. His feuds with Matt Hardy and Christian were some of my favorites in a long time. Also had probably the best commentary at the time. And the start of Mark Henry FINALLY hitting his stride. Goldust Sheamus feud.
