I'm sorry if there's another JR's podcast thread, just wanted to share my thoughts about this week's installment. I've been waiting for the aj interview for awhile now, I must admit that after hearing his first one with Jericho, I was a little scared it was gonna be identical, I'm happy I was proven wrong, ok here are some highlights.
-JR said Tommy Dreamer told him that there's a couple of people he gets really nervous when working with them, one is the undertaker and the other one is AJ, because of how good he is.
-Jim admits that he regrets not signing him, says that he felt that he had a good eye for talent (he signed Lesnar, Batista, Orton, Cena, one of the best compliments ever to put him in that list).
-AJ admits that he's still angry that Gaburick, in that interview with Borash, said that the company offered Styles a good deal, that wasn't true.
-TNA's main problem is that there's no accountability, no one takes responsibility for their mistakes.
-When JR asks him if he would return to tna if the money was right, he takes the political route and says that he's happy with New Japan, takes another subtle jab at tna when he said that the Japanese company has treated him with absolute respect. JR and AJ talk about their mutual admiration for Stan Hansen.
- They talk about the importance of selling and not being just a spot monkey, AJ talks about how Raven helped him out a lot on how to work as a babyface.
-JR takes a jab at Sinclair Broadcating stating that if they have the resources, ROH shouldn't look so dingy, mentions the badly lit arenas, AJ agrees to an extent, he also said that ROH could become the number two promotion in the us.
-Dream Matches: with Rey Mysterio and Stan Hansen (they both laugh when AJ describes how he would sell the Lariat)
-JR asked him if he would regret not going to the WWE, Styles again plays it cool, saying that he's happy the way things turned out to be.
-JR asks him about John Cena, AJ said that he appreciates all the work he does with the make a wish foundation.
-They talk about Lesnar breaking the streak, AJ says that if you're gonna lose to someone why not the baddest man on the planet, he also said that on the other hand it bums him out that he's not gonna see Taker vs Sting. JR talks about his fantasy booking plans, in which the undertaker would've defeated John Cena at wrestlemania, won the title and retire the next night on raw...that's interesting....
I highly recommend this episode. Sometimes JR goes off in a tangent about Georgia's landmarks, AJ being from there is able to keep up with him, JR also tells a story about partying with Tony Schiavone every night on the town, doesn't give details, just says that he was single back then. JR and AJ have a great chemistry, for a moment while hearing I pictured Jim as his uncle telling him cool stories about back in the day.
