Nickelodeon, floundering network that it is, finally just bit the big one, due to low ratings, they have officially pulled Legend of Korra's remaining episodes from their Network. Due to a Con coming up shortly which will feature a Legend of Korra Panel, the creators will say where exactly the rest of Korra will be released. All that has been said is it will be Digital.
Nickelodeon has ALWAYS had it out for Korra. Whether it be the show being delayed due to Korra being "A Female Protagonist" and them unsure if a Female Protagonist can work in a Cartoon, to the renewal of the show when the creators didn't know there would be a season 2, to airing Season 3 with no warning, and BARELY advertising when Korra episodes would be out.
The fan backlash is IMMENSE. Many Fans are now officially boycotting the Network for this decision, as what many considered the current best thing on the failing Network, is gone due to their stupidity. The comments on their Facebook page are honestly hilarious.
Nickelodeon has been on a dangerous slipping slope of Quality since the first Avatar: The Last Airbender series ended, coupled with Animation flops such as "Fanboy and Chum Chum" (Which they chose OVER Adventure Time), The FRED Movies, show, and Marvin Marvin, Nick Studio 10, and more just horrid attempts at making entertainment, on top of the overrun, stale and shells of their former selves SpongeBob Squarepants and Fairly Oddparents, Korra and TMNT seemed to be the only decent things on the Network anymore, maybe aside from Sam and Cat to some, however that has since been canceled due to the actresses having problems with the Network, gee, what a shocker.
Nickelodeon has officially died to many people with this move. When their standard was "At least they have Korra" and now it's gone... they basically have nothing.
Now my standard is "At least we still have Cartoon Network", who for the most part (Teen Titans GO...) cares about their content they create.
When you finally die Nick, it will be bittersweet, but you will not be missed.

It's not really canceled, they just pulled 5 episodes from this season. However the cancellation of the show down the road seems pretty likely now.

this is the ONLY thing I've ever watched on Nick, or planned to. Guess I can now delete it from my favorites list on my Dish Guide.

Wish another Network could scoop it up and give it the Treatment they deserve because Nick might as well have bashed a hammer against the wall with their marketing of Korra.

I'd still watch it, just find a good place online to, don't rely on Nick to actually show you good content in 2014...

It's not cancelled.
They're just moving the rest of the season to online-only distribution.
Also, am I the only person that has never remotely cared about Korra? Seems like it...

So it sounds like it's going to pull a Star Wars Clone Wars and move to something like Netflix or Hulu. Honestly it sounds like a mix of Nick hardly advertising the show and episodes that keep getting leaked. It's just a bad storm to be caught up in. I loved season 1 but not so much season 2. From what I've seen, it looked like it was starting to get good again.

To be fair this entire season got off to a bad start.
When more than half the season got leaked, they seemingly more or less threw their hands in the air and said, "f*** it".

On the one hand it's sad and Nick are assholes but on the other hand season 2 was pretty shite, so seeing the ratings this low is not really a surprise to me.

Bunch of idiots.
You keep putting out multiple episodes on non-consecutive Friday nights, and then wonder why you're not drawing a big audience for a show that tends to have a lot of youth/adult crossover appeal?
The end of cable can't happen soon enough.

The end of cable can't happen soon enough. That coupled with complete lack of marketing. They didn't do near anything to remind fans when and where to catch Korra
But GOD FORBID we go through ONE commercial break without seeing a Breadwinners, Sanjay and Craig, or Henry Danger Promo
F***ing Hell...

Sorry, had to change the title to make it more accurate.
As far as Nick on cable, it's just TMNT for me now. SpongeBob's too stupid these days.

Agreed on the lack of marketing; I'm not a Nick watcher unless one of the Avatar shows is on, but I had no clue Book 3 was beginning until an update nearly the day of splashed onto my Facebook feed from the official Avatar account. Again, I don't watch Nick, but you'd think ANY ads would've sprung up somewhere, especially for a show that aims to draw in teens and adults, as well.

It's cool, I understand as Korra isn't cancelled AND Book 4 is confirmed to already be done, but how Nick moves forward now is any ones guess. I watch like 10 times more CN than Nick anymore.

If there was a book on how NOT to market a show, Nick would take up most of it
They should have taken a lesson from Disney and how they marketed Girl Meets World EVERYWHERE, and they got 5+ Million Views so. Yeah.

I think this was because of Nick not getting over Korra being a female protagonist, as well as them throwing a tantrum about the leaks in Mexico. Not to mention, they resent the fact that most of Korra's fanbase are twenty and thirtysomethings. It was supposed to premiere in the Fall. That doesn't excuse the lack of previews or anything to promote the fact it was coming on this month. Of course, if 90% of Nick's schedule wasn't lackluster garbage more people might have known about it. Plus let's face it, if it did air in the Fall they still wouldn't have kept it on Friday and wouldn't advertise it. There was no reason it couldn't stay on Saturdays.
Just like what happened with Young Justice and Green Lantern at CN, a lot of people are raging at Nick's Facebook page. I'm mad too, but trolling a network won't do anything. It certainly didn't bring the former two shows back. At least they'll air online, but there are a number of people who don't have immediate Internet access.
Between this and the Sam and Cat debacle, something needs to change at Nick soon, or they'll finally end up too far behind CN and Disney to ever be on top again.

I don't think it helped that it was marketed so poorly, I didn't know this season had started for like a month.

Yeah, I didn't know Book 3 started until I saw people on my Facebook and Tumblr feeds sending out the word the day of the premiere. Nick's advertising and promotion of the show is atrocious.
And just like The Last Airbender, Korra gets f***ed over by a shitty network. It's nice that it's moving to online distribution as opposed to outright cancellation, but I'm one of the few people out there who doesn't have Netflix or Hulu+ or anything like that. So I'm screwed out of it.
f*** you Nick.
