I just watched this movie for the first time the other day. Really funny stuff. I can't believe I hadn't seen it before cause I love the old SCTV show with Rick Moranis, Dave Thomas, John Candy and all those other guys and gals. Now post something you hosers! -Kelly

I think I saw that movie once.. when I was quite young. All I remember was (I think) someone drank a whole tank of beer and put out a fire by urinating on it afterwards ? Keep in mind, I'm old.. I'm blonde and I suffer from C.R.S. syndrome

And he blew up like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and kept saying, "I really gotta go, eh!" -Kelly

Mel Blanc as the voice of the dad.
After they pour the last beer into the bowl and then the dad wants a beer. Classic.
Best Beer Movie Ever!!!

The opening song was excellent.
STRAAAAAAAAAAANGE BREW! *weird 80's keyboard sound*
Love that movie.
"Why are you crying?" "We've never been apart before!"

A classic movie.....it can be used to gauge your friends' sense of humor.
Some favorite lines:
Bob: "If I didn't have puke breath, I'd kiss you."
Bob: "You okay, hoser?" Doug (w/ Black goalie mask on): "I am your father, Luke. Give in to the dark side, you knob." Bob: "He saw Jedi seventeen times, eh." (that one is a ringtone on my phone)
Bob: (To a drunken MGM Lion) "Start up, you knob."
The whole scene where they cause the hockey fight is hilarious also.

I own this movie for no other reason than John Candy. The man doesn't get the respect he truely deserves.
I can't remember any fancy quotes at the moment, because I'm not the sharpest tool in the pants, but it's a fine film with many chuckles through out.
I LOVE JOHN CANDY!!!

And my dumb brother told me he was. Then I watched it, and nope, didn't see him. I was also hoping for Joe Flaherty, but he was a no show as well. 8( So in other words, I bought it for Candy, who wasn't in it. I had no idea what it was (I didn't like Doug and Bob on SCTV), and I was lied too. I'd rather watch The Great Outdoors. I'll leave now, this movie brings back bad memories. Sorry.

The scene where they bribe the receptionist using doughnuts...and she ACCEPTS THEM...is maybe the most ridiculously funny bit I've ever seen.
"It's my last one!" "Give it....perhaps one of these will loosen your tongue?" 'It's a jelly."

The hockey fight scene is definately the best. Their commentary is awesome.

*when Bob and Doug get arrested*
Doug: Those big cons are gonna love you, eh. Bob: What d'ya mean? Doug: You're a cute little guy, they're gonna be lovin' you from dawn til dusk. Bob: Where you gonna be? Doug: I'll be in the cafeteria sellin' smokes.

Non-Canadians appreciate this movie? Also appreciate SCTV? I thought only Canadians understood the crazyness. Oh, and best John Candy movie=Canadian Bacon.

I'm as American as apple pie and cheesecake. Mmmm....cheesecake *shakes head* where was I? Oh yes. Anyways, I laughed my hinder off at this movie and their comedy album AND I'm a little All-American gal BUT, BUT...I have a little French Canadian in my blood from my dad's side going a ways back, so that might explain it (I'm a run-on sentence whore). I also LOVE John Candy and LOVE SCTV. Canadian Bacon is a classic and regardless of Michael Moore's politics (I refuse to get into it here), the movie is just plain funny. -Kelly

I have to pick up this movie sometime.
I have seen a bit of SCTV in the past but not enough to remember enough about it.
