Glad this didn't last. So I was watching some old PPV footage from 2011 and was reminded of Dolph's weird short hair phase. Was this his own decision because if so, terrible mistake. His current hair makes him stand out way more than he does with short, brown hair. It was borderline generic looking. Oddly enough, I keep seeing Evan Bourne every time I glance at this photo.

The New and Improved Dolph Ziggler was dead in the water the moment that Evan Bourne came out to be his opponent and they looked exactly the same. However, I do wish he had kept his hair short when he dyed his hair. It's still the best look he's ever had.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was his call to a degree. Sometimes his hair looks so fried from dying it, since this seems to be his natural color, or closer to it, which explains his roots showing all the time.
He probably wanted to give his hair a chance to heal up.

The two things I remember was how people said he looked like a Buff Evan Bourne and him Tweeting that he felt like Bender if he had gotten his Antenna cut off.
People who think Dolph's in a bad position now do not remember this run... I honestly thought Dolph was screwed when they did this to him and he'd be fired in like two weeks...

AAll that dye/bleach is probably killing his hair. A great look for him would be to keep his long hair but let it be his natural brunette color.

All he did was cut and dye his hair. He'd just come off a world title reign (albeit very short), WWE were obviously high on him, and he won the US title about a month after the haircut. Dolph in 2014 hasn't even had a storyline.

Yes admittedly he was ok after the run, but when it happened I just thought "Oh no they've destroyed his character", and that he was doomed, it wasn't the case but I know I wasn't the only one thinking it.
As for Dolph, he's going to be feuding with The Miz I assume. A shame Dolph isn't in the World Title Picture anymore, he clearly deserves it, can bring excitement to matches, and... basically do everything Kane can't in 2014.

How long did he have this for? I seem to remember it being literally for a week or two and then back to the bleach blond.

Not a fan of the noodly hair when he's got it too long like now.

Without the long bleached hair, Dolph really does just look like a CAW.

For some strange reason, he looked a lot like an older Briley Pierce.

The first time they showed the New and Improved Dolph backstage with Vickie... my first thought was... Why the hell is Evan Bourne talking to Vickie?
I've said it before if he had cut his hair and left it blonde or kept it long and dyed it brown it would have been an easier transition.

He really came across as Vickie's bitch with that haircut. Looked like it was her idea and he came out on RAW all grumpy thinking "What am I doing?"

He could have worked a really fun "Not-Quite-Shane-o-Mac" gimmick with the short brown hair if he put a suit on and walked like Vince out to the ring.
Lotta promos like, "Its me dad. I'm back in WWE and ready to take over the family business!!!" **wink at the camera**

I'm back in WWE and ready to take over the family business!!!" **wink at the camera** I always wanted WWE to go full on soap opera style and have different wrestlers take over the same character (obviously different when they have masks like Sin Cara). Just have Darren Young make his way to the ring while the camera pauses briefly as a narrator says "the part of John Cena will now be played by Darren Young" and everyone acts like nothing has changed.

HAHA yeah I have a program from when his hair was like that. He was blond again at the event I bought it at. Makes me laugh when I look at it.

As I mentioned in a previous thread, he didn't just cut his hair and dye it brown, he also dropped all of his mannerisms, I guess in an attempt to be more "serious." He'd be all stone-faced, walk to the ring, wrestle, then walk back, still stone-faced.
