The reason there is so much WWE content on YouTube, which some think has hurt network subscriptions and will hurt renewals, is it is a strategic decision by WWE. Rob Bernstein, the WWE Vice President of Digital and Print in March told the Digital Sports Fan Engagement Conference that they were not going after blocking archived YouTube videos of products that they own because they believe it’s better to leave them there and get fans hooked on the product. He said that the belief is that long-term, it is more beneficial and that fans who get exposed to the product that way will spend more money. There are differing opinions about that. There are some things that they do go after, particularly if it’s stuff they don’t want up.
They’ve ordered all new championship belts reflecting promotion for the WWE Network and the new logo. It’s the logo that was first introduced in December at the WrestleMania press conference in San Jose that will be used for everything starting in a few weeks. When Cena handed Flair the WWE world title belt, that was the symbolic retirement of that designed belt, since that belt is most associated with Flair as NWA champion in the 80s. Cena is expected to only carry the other belt from this point forward, until the new belt is introduced.

The 8/3 NBC special will consist of an edited version of the Hogan, Rock and Austin promo, Undertaker vs. Lesnar and Cena vs. Wyatt. So WWE believed that Bryan’s title win was not one of the big moments on the show as far as drawing on NBC. There’s also the argument that Lesnar, Cena and Wyatt are all key players on SummerSlam, the next major show, and Bryan is not, although Orton would be. Of course Rock and Austin aren’t either, and Hogan won’t be wrestling on the show.
Cena is off the 8/4 Raw in Austin, TX filming the movie “Trainwreck.” That’s also why he was off the 7/21 Raw in Miami.
There is nothing official new on Mysterio. As noted before, he is still under contract. There is no date set for a return, and there is some question if there will be a return. Reportedly he has stopped cashing any of the checks the company has sent him, which is usually a prelude to action being taken to get out of the deal. As noted, his contract expired months ago, but the company renewed it for another year based on the idea that he owed them a year from the previous contract based on time off due to injury. That is part of the standard wrestling contract everyone signs.
Kelly Wolfe, 40, best known as Wolfie D in Tennessee and Kentucky in the 90s, as well as Slash of the Disciples of Sinn and Cerebus on indies in the last decade, part of the PG-13 tag team which had a WWE run in the 90s, is currently undergoing WWE sponsored rehab.
There is some talk of having Nikki Bella turn on Brie as the culmination of the current Stephanie McMahon/Nikki Bella storyline.
