Chyna counts. When she disappeared, the title went with her, and when they brought it back a few months later, there was no mention of why it was vacant. Shows how much the WWF valued the Women's title that on 3 separate occasions, they fired the champion without asking her to lose the title first. From what I remember Chyna didn't want to drop it to anyone which is why it was made vacant.

Stan Hansen and the AWA Heavyweight Title? Ding ding ding, he also ran over the title with his truck, Bockwinkle had to use a tag team belt. Also Lawler left with the belt, he still has it to this day.

From what I remember Chyna didn't want to drop it to anyone which is why it was made vacant. Jim Ross reported online in July 2001 that she would be leaving after being unable to agree on a new contract. I have no idea why they didn't release her from the contact she had, but it was probably because there were just a couple months left on it.
