Triple H's character doesn't praise his opponent when they defeat him, he brushes it off and call it a fluke. Also heels rarely concede someone is the better man unless they are planning a sneak attack. And that's the problem. If the villain never appears truly defeated, it makes the hero's story less satisfying. Well, in the 1980's NWA, the heels were never truly defeated by design. For example, Dusty never destroyed and anhilated the Horsemen. It was Vince Sr's WWWF and Jr.'s Hogan-eraWWF where the heels were truly vanquished almost to the point of being buried and ruining their ability to protect their brand name (there was a reason why Roddy Piper never let 1980's Hogan get a clean win over him). If you are working as a heel, which would you rather be: post-loss King Kong Bundy and the Honky Tonk Man where the audience knows you'll get your ass kicked. Or would you rather be Ric Flair: the dirtiest player in the game who will use every loophole to screw his enemy over?

Rajah is telling me that Sting has still yet to sign a WWE contract. ....why do I keep going back to this site?

It helped sell the feud and the victory of the heel. If King Kong Bundy effectively no-sold the meaning of Hogan's victory over him, it would have rendered the victory relatively trivial. That's what happens in WWE today and why feuds are less effective.

I expect they are kind of testing the waters before hammering out the final details, ex. Seeing how well his merchandise sells to get an idea what his dollar value is.

He got the big victory at WM, and they continued regardless to dismiss him as a B+ farm animal goat troll. The fact that they booked him to follow that victory with a shitty horror movie feud with Kane which he should have been done with ages ago is further proof IMO of marginalisation Triple H's character doesn't praise his opponent when they defeat him, he brushes it off and call it a fluke. Also heels rarely concede someone is the better man unless they are planning a sneak attack. Bryan's Mania foes were booked against the Shield and Cena continued his feud with Wyatt leaving him Kane until those feuds were over. Things would be different if Bryan didn't get sideline. WWE wanted him as champion until they had no other options but stripping Bryan of the title. If no injury, we'd likely be having Bryan fending off HHH's Plan C in the form of Brock Lesnar.

I'm kind of bummed that such a legendary moment was used up at a Comic Con Mattel event.

I'm just happy for Sting. Now he can enjoy his legacy and receive the proper financial reward for his years of hard work. The Video Games, the action figures, the t-shirts, the inevitable Raw/PPV appearances, DVD/Blu-Ray royalties, Hall of Fames and on and on it'll go. It's all money he deserves and hopefully he see's this as fruits of his labour and not him selling out (Which he isn't).
He gave TNA so many years of good service and they didn't treat him half as well as WWE will.

Now I want this to happen just to experience the intense hatred on forums across the world. But how can someone turn heel on Sting if Sting is already heel? The theological implications of that are mind-boggling.

The theological implications of that are mind-boggling. Sting would turn on himself, Black and Red Sting would feud with Black and White Sting, kinda like if Relationship George would walk through the door he would kill Independent George, by that logic a Sting divided against itself cannot stand.

Paul Heyman "Ladies and gentleman the newest Paul Heyman guy, once was your guy but now mine, the ICON Sting!"
*Sting walks out Crowd Boos*
Paul Heyman "This is huge news isn't it...almost as huge as MYCLIENTBROCKLESNARDEFEATINGTHEUNDERTAKERATWRESTLEMANIA"
*Sting cries*

I imagine that his motivations are similar to Ultimo Dragon when he entered WWE; working in WWE and appearing at one Wrestlemania are the only things that he feels are missing for him to truly say he's had a complete career in which he did it all. And yeah, making some big money again has to be nice too.

Coming back to the video for the second time, my reaction was:
STING! IT'S THE ICON! STING! WOOOO! PAUL E DANGEROUSLY, GET AWAY FROM HIM! IT'S STING! NOT A PRE-ORDER FOR A GAME! THE REAL STING. HE SHOULD HIT EVERYONE IN THE ROOM WITH A BASEBALL BAT!
Honestly, Sting sums up my childhood wrestling fandom. IT'S STING!
Cynicism be damned, it's STING!
