ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports Vick Ballard suffered a torn Achilles during Friday's training camp practice. That seems surprising. I thought he wasn't expected to actually participate in actual practice for a couple of weeks and instead spend his time with the trainers. If true, the guy just cannot catch a break. This is not what I wanted to hear. Trent Richardson was so unreliable last year.

Forget everything else, I don't know why Johnny Foosball thought a Bob's Big Boy haircut is a good idea He wants to look like Brownie the Elf, the Browns old mascot.

In an interestingly-timed move, the New York Daily News is reporting that Stephen A. Smith will be leaving his ESPN Radio gig in New York and head to the uncensored airwaves of SiriusXM. And, also interestingly, he will be joining Chris "Mad Dog" Russo's stable of hosts on Mad Dog Radio.

Will ESPN try to entice Woody Page to come back to New York in order to debate Skip Bayless in the morning again or is Kerri Champion going to take that spot and they bring in a new host for First Take?

Steelers president Art Rooney said the team will wait until next offseason to sign Ben Roethlisberger to a contract extension. Basically, they want to wait to be sure that the duct tape holding him together doesn't come unraveled this season before they invest more money on him.

Nothing about Stephen A's TV role was mentioned in the story. So basically he may possibly still be on ESPN television.

Give it time, the backlash over his remarks about Ray Rice's suspension, and putting blame on Ray's now wife, is going to cause ESPN to fire him. Hell a lot of ESPN's employees should be getting in trouble for their defense of his suspension only being 2 games. Oddly enough, Skip Bayless and Colin Cowherd were voices of reason in that whole mess. They blasted the NFL for only giving Rice 2 games, Skip even said it should have been a minimum 8 game suspension (I agree with that).

Does this mean he can say "n****" please" without having to blame it on a New York accent?

Was he the dumbass that said that women shouldn't be making their men so angry that they snap and hit them? If so, smurf that guy.

Hmm... first post in an NFL Thread? GO EAGLES!! (Great to know a frequent poster here is a Cowboys Fan we'll probably get along just fine... ) Very confident in the Eagles team this year. I think we have all the talent to go deep if everyone stays healthy.
