Niners have released LaMichael James.....crap, why do I have a bad feeling this was to make room for Ray Rice? He wouldn't be the only domestic abuser on the team. I doubt though that a team would be so stupid as to pick up Rice right now. He's radioactive. EDIT: Actually conspiracy theory alert. LaMichael James signs with the Ravens. He is the "compensation" from the league for the Ravens releasing Rice to help make the league's headache go away. A gift from one Harbaugh to the other.

NFL has now suspended Ray Rice indefinitely after his release from the Ravens. Which last I checked...they according to the rule book, can't do. He's still a first time offender as bad as the vid looks. How did NFL just go from 2 game suspension, to stiffen the penalties for these actions, to suspended indefinitely? So does the NFL change their own rules when they see fit? They wouldn't do this w/out running it through the players union first.

Violation of the Personal Conduct Policy which he would be in violation of contains no set punishments, just left to the Commissioner's discretion.

He plays favorites, is inconsistent, and seems petty. The guy has all the traits of a narcissist and ineffective leader, yet he still holds his position of trust. I don't get it.

Apparently - Mike Florio said that Janay asked for leniency because "the revenue would go away"

That's pretty much it. I mean, it is hard to base this on anything other than assumption, but I feel like other commissioners could do that too. The NFL is a product that everyone wants and is demanding more and more of. It would be hard to ruin the moneymaking potential of the league. There has to be another choice out there that could in no way Plaxico Burress themselves while being more humble, transparent, and fair than Goodell.

ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley stated on SportsCenter Monday that Justin Forsett "looks to be the starter" in Baltimore's backfield entering Week 2 against the Steelers.

Ray Rice should have been given a stiff punishment the first time! But you suspended him for two games. The video from inside the elevator shouldn't make much difference because he already admitted to knocking her out. We already had video of him dragging her unconscious body out of the elevator. His admission of doing it should be as damning as a video showing him doing it. While I constantly criticized NFL for the light punishment, they already punished him. As I said, I think the video changes nothing since it simply shows what he already confessed to doing. I wouldn't blame Ray Rice if he took legal action against the NFL for re-punishing him. Their suspension of him seems to be based on their NEW rules for a second offender. His first offense took place before the new rules and he was already punished for it.

Heard Rich Gannon on SXM's NFL Radio actually say he was worried for Ray and Janay's marriage because he was sure it could survive Ray losing his contract. Still trying to wrap my head around that one.

If we turn our attention to tonight's games, tonight is gonna be a good forecast for the Giants season. I very weary of McAdoo's West Coast offense, as it doesn't fit Eli at all. Let him throw the damn ball. Also we'll see if the revamped secondary is good as they have a big test in Megatron. I think, they get killed, but if they pull it off, maybe they'll be better then we think.

If the Giants can avoid a turnover on the first play of the season, they can't do any worse than last year.

I feel like the NFL's credibility has been obliterated and Ray Rice/Roger Goodell have ruined the season and made it hard for me to enjoy anything going forward.
I suddenly don't care about what the Buffalo Bills do going forward.
One left-handed punch has rendered everything completely and utterly differently than I felt yesterday.
As far as I'm concerned, this season already feels tainted in my eyes.

So the Niners released him first so he could sign with the Ravens. Okay, guess there goes my thought the Niners would allow another wife beater on the team.
