About as much as "booking for the fans" does. I agree with Alvarez and Meltzer that booking everything the fans want also isn't the way to go. Book a solid product and let audiences decide what they like or dislike. Don't let small segments dictate your booking.
That being said, by this point, Battleground groaning has jumped the shark, imo. I don't mean that in a way to say there's no right to complain, but come on. It's Thursday. Sunday was nowhere near as bad as it's being made out to be.

Sunday was nowhere near as bad as it's being made out to be. I intended to post this on like Tuesday but life ended up distracting me And really, this is not just about Battleground because people had the same reaction last year when Daniel Bryan got stripped of the title the night after he won it on a PPV. With the WWE being in the "Please, for the love of God, subscribe to our Network" mode, stuff like this does seem real important more than ever.

What's funny is that, were they 100% on the Network with their programming, it MIGHT work more, since it isn't like people would be paying extra for the PPVs.
I'm not a believer in absolutes in wrestling booking most of the time, so I don't want to say there's never a place for it. However, as said before, when you're dealing with paying customers you have to be REALLY careful how you do it, and make it feel like what you're giving them instead is, in fact, better than the match you initially advertised. That's tough to do; that's why I'd probably say it's best to avoid it unless you absolutely know you have a great idea lined up.
If they wanted to only tease a full Ambrose vs. Rollins match, then maybe they should've booked them in a tag match or something where Rollins keeps ducking Ambrose until Dean can't take it anymore, snaps, and just tries to pulverize Rollins to the point that he gets DQ'd/the match gets thrown out.

It's fine for Raw. Not for a ppv.

If they really want people to sign up to the Network so then can watch pay per views, maybe they should stop making 2 out of every 3 pay per views just RAWs.

I'm not buying the "we got even MORE Ambrose/Rollins" argument. We got three segments of Rollins walking around, getting tackled, and watching Ambrose do his wild kitty punches. In the time it took to shoot all those, you could have had a good match with a screwy finish that continues the chase angle that's going on.
So to answer the question, no, they shouldn't do it. It's fine on TV, but when you have a big match like that, don't just take it away. Or, as previously mentioned, give us SOME other match instead.

Bumping this bad boy after the finish to last night's main event. Now personally, I really liked the booking the of the match up until the finale. As much as people may be bored with Cena, I thought a competitive match between him and Lesnar was much more entertaining than the Squash. But the screwy finished ruined what was IMO the best Cena/Lesnar match, and for no reason at that since Rollins didn't even cash-in.
