In case you guys forgot, some dude did a Kickstarter a year or two ago to fund a documentary about Superman Lives, the failed attempt in the mid-90s to bring Superman back to the silver screen. That documentary is nearing completion, but the director/producer/whatever is crowd-funding in order to put the finishing touches on it. He's got a pretty bitchin' trailer, though, if you click this link right here: www.yahoo.com/movies/unfinished-documentary-about-unfinished-nicolas-cage-92822105717.html

Wasn't there also a rumor that DC would do animated movies based on some of the live action ideas that stayed in developmental hell?

I did like in the animated Superman: Doomsday, when Supes defeats Toyman, who is driving around a giant mechanical spider. Even had Kevin Smith voice an onlooker who jokes about it.

He put it in Wild Wild West He also put it in Man of Steel. World Engine? Giant mechanical spider. I remember that, and that it was clearly an homage to legenbdary robot spider, but I didn't know that John Peters was involved in Man Of Steel.

I know it's become a joke, but I do actually like the concept art of Braniac as a giant mechanical spider.

The stories Kevin Smith told about Peters is great Unlike with Prince he didn't have no problems with Kevin making fun of him

I'd be interested in seeing this. I think the suit would have looked terrible. Also, long-haired Nic Cage as Superman? I think it's for the best that this version never saw the light of day.

Where I'm the clockwork Owl, but this time it's a musical and he has severe Tourette's & Irritable Bowel Syndrome!" Narrator: "Uh Mr Cage, I was asking about Superman Lives" Nicolas Cage: "So was I, That's what I wanted in the Superman movie"
