This half season has been one of the strongest of the series to me. It didn't feel like "Rick, Daryl, and everyone else" like previous seasons. We spent a lot of time with different characters, and none of the deaths felt like they happened just to kill someone off. Tragic deaths by Seasons :
Season 1 - Jacqui Season 2 - Dale Season 3 - Lori Season 4 - Herschel Season 5 - Beth I was more affected by T-Dog's death in S3 than Lori's.

So what did BETH mean when she said she gets it now ? I thought she was talking about doing what was necessary to save Noah. She knew Dawn wasn't going to negotiate to let him go because Dawn had to look strong in front of the other officers. The only person stopping Noah from leaving was Dawn, so she had to force Dawn's hand... Literally.

I read on Facebook that Kirkman stated that it was a writing mistake that Maggie didn't mention Beth. But in actuality, how do we know she wasn't constantly talking about her? Just because we didn't see it on screen doesn't mean she didn't talk to Glen, Abraham, Rosita, or Eugene about her.
Not every little detail has to be spelled out. Sometimes we just have to fill in the blanks by ourselves.

Being newer to the show Beths death didn't affect me too hard. I'm watching the entire series on the side and I'm up to the mid-point of season three. So she's just a background character to me. I think if Carol had of gone I'd have been a little touched. When Lori went in season three I was completely unaffected. I was actually happy.
Season five drew me in but watching the older seasons I think it (season five) has almost been too much. It's been entertaining and interesting but it's moving a one-hundred miles per hour all the time. More killing, more gore, more extreme walkers but no real character development except maybe that one episode with Darryl and Carol (and that one with Beth, Dawn and that doctor, which really doesn't matter now anyway) and no real purpose. So it was good to draw a new viewer in and keep things interesting but overall it's been kind of pointless to me.
From what I've seen season one has been the best one, followed closely by what I've seen of season three. Season two was boring and I fast-forwarded a lot (since most of the characters are dead now and I really didn't care).

Sometimes we just have to fill in the blanks by ourselves. That's letting the writers get away with bad writing. I loved this half season, but the Maggie/Beth problem is a major flaw of it. It wouldn't have been so bad had Maggie not decided travel to another state while her sister was still alive and most likely close by. Had there been some conflict between going with her husband to Washington or staying with the group to find her sister, everything would've worked a bit better. As it stands, it's a problem in an otherwise solid half season.

Lori's character on this show was extremely unlikeable and I didn't feel anything for her when she died. Comic Lori wasn't all that likeable either but it was a huge moment when she bit it and pretty shocking as well.
As far as Beth is concerned, her end could have been better but at least it wasn't an Andrea situation. I'm just glad Daryl blasted Dawn after that happened. I didn't like her at all.
I am interested in seeing where they go from here, especially with Morgan.

I did not like that Dawn lady (not that I was supposed to) but seeing her splatter just ended the confusion I had around her character.

Man what an episode Well first thing is first - WOO HOO CAROL IS STILL AROUND Anyway Enjoyed the beginning with Cop Bob, A scene taken from the comics {Spoiler}Martinez Father Gabriel coming across Good guy Bobs leg and the Walkers in the School chasing him back to the Church was also fun, Good to see Michonne actually do something this season Overall this episode was a good mix of Action and slower scenes but didn't drag that much, I actually liked when Rick was talking to the 2 Cops on the Car Park roof than a Walker pops up in the background and gets shot. The ending though... wow, just as Beth was starting to get Interesting *Boom!* right in the head, but at least she took the female cop (Sorry I forget her name) with her. Obviously Maggies reaction at the end was to be expected. Anyway I have really enjoyed this first half of Season 5, I still think Season 3 is my favourite thus far. Sucks that I have to wait till February now for it to continue but I'm looking forward to seeing where they go from here

The only members of the group I've been happy to see die were Lori and Dale. Especially Dale.

I got chocked up. I loved Beth she was great. When it happened I was like 'i'm done, i just cant do this anymore' but then I watched Talking Dead and got over it a bit. My gf was just in tears. haha we invested so much in this show. I guess because it was an accident that it made it all that worst. They should have just gone with Rick's plan! This is something I am trying to work out myself. I guess that Dawn was using Beth? I don't think she was committing suicide? She stabbed a woman in police gear with tiny scissors in a protected real. She committed suicide by cop. Maybe not the intention, but it was always the outcome. And if that wasn't her plan, she is really damned stupid. I let it sink in and I get it. She did try to commit suicide early on in the series too. I remember Dawn pointing out her scar. Who knows why she did it though. There were so many flaws in those last few minutes. Like for one, if the two cops hated dawn why didn't they just say that they wanted to off her? I am sure Rick and the group would be okay with it especially if Noah said the kind of things Dawn was doing. I don't know, I'm a little butt hurt (and traumatized) that she is gone.

So long as Dawn was alive, Noah wouldn't be free. Beth knew if she attacked Dawn, Dawn would retaliate and that the group wouldn't let that shit fly. That's why she said "I get it now" when Dawn made Noah part of the deal.

She was living on borrowed time anyway. Her decision not to commit suicide on the farm seemed less like, "I've got a newfound respect for life" and more like "Not here, not now" to me anyway.
I think part of her obviously still wanted to die the entire time from the farm to now, but was looking for the most opportune moment. She saw that the situation was going to resolve with Noah going back and the cop staying in charge. When the cop made Noah part of the deal, Beth realized that Dawn was irredeemable and needed to be stopped. Since she saw her own life as being fairly invaluable, she took a shot at getting Noah back.
Also, one of the ep's on the show:

I thought it was a hot and cold finale. I'm glad they've finished the hospital story, I just haven't enjoyed much of any of it. Also while I definitely got into the emotions during Beth's death, I'm not really going to miss her either.
A few things that bug the hell out of me though. First, Rick and co. make the completely stupid decision to make the trade on enemy turf, instead of using the rooftop they originally met. Secondly, how the hell did Dawn's gun go off when they'd all holstered their weapons? I mean, she shot her barely a second after she'd been stabbed. Are we to believe she had the world's quickest knee jerk reaction? It was pretty bad.
Again, thank god we've left the hospital.
