I've been reading comments on other sides all day. The five most common things said: 1: Carol's a badass! 2: Morgan! 3: Tyreese is a badass! 4: Happy Ending! 5: Negan? ?

I'm surprised how fast that went. I was expecting for this entire episode being about how they planned to escape. Instead, Carol blows shit up and everybody else stabs their way to freedom in one sitting. So as far as Eugene and his cure goes, what exactly do you think it is?(please, no comic spoilers) When he said the cure dies with him, do you think something for the cure is in his blood? Like he used part of himself to experiment. The comic spoiler urge is strong, but I will not spoil it. Having said that, depending on how they play it up on the show; its going to be a memorable moment and not in the way that you anticipate. What I will say is this: in interviews, Robert Kirkman (the man behind the creation of The Walking Dead) has said that this story isn't about figuring out the cause and that it is about living in this post apocalyptic world. You'll get an answer about Eugene but you're not going to get an answer about the cause of the walking dead. As for the guy on the slab getting chopped on while Rick, Daryl, Glenn and Bob were in grave danger; that was Alex, the guy who took a bullet in the dome in Terminus before Rick and Co got chased through Terminus and stuck in the train car. Alex is believed to be Gareth's brother. In other words, they were preparing to eat one of their own group, and in Gareth's case, his own brother. It should also be said that it seems Mary (the woman Carol shot in the leg) is Alex and Gareth's mother. As for Morgan. I'm guessing that: A. They didn't know where to fit in that reveal so it was best to save it for the end as a little bit of time had to pass between Rick's group and Morgan being at the same point. B. I doubt it. It was the season premier, and they wanted to load this episode up with some shocking moments; of which they delivered in spades. C. I honestly don't think we're going to see much of Morgan aside from that shot to show he's still alive until a crucial moment later on in season 5. D. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Morgan does get reunited with Rick in the comic and makes it to the Alexandria Safe Zone. It is reasonable that he at some point will join Rick's group albeit under different circumstances. The "Clear" episode was similar to how he joins Rick on the way to DC in the comics, except that happened in the comic after the fall of the prison, and Rick and Carl had Abraham with them instead of Michone. I do think they'll play up the angle of just how sane Morgan is in the show, and his level of trustworthiness where Rick really has to go to bat for him to the rest of the group. Last but not least, for those saying that the Terminus storyline is over. I wouldn't say its over. Gareth took one to the shoulder but he's still alive. In the "Fear the Hunters" arc of the comic, there were only 5 of them including their leader. Gareth doesn't need that many ex-Terminus peeps to go on the hunt. Terminus as a place may be done with, but the story still has a ways to go. Could have just told me "no comment". XD

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Please, please don't have Negan kill Glen on the show. I hope they switch the roles and have it be Daryl. Honestly I'd be happy if they just don't have Negan's big moment on television at all. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Daryl's a huge wild card in that respect. A lot of people online seem to think Daryl will be the one to get "Lucille-ed". I think it would make more sense though to stick to the comic and have Glenn bite it. Negan's going to cave somebody's head in with a barbed-wire baseball bat regardless, and then have weird dialogue cause he can't drop f-bombs all the time on cable tv afterwards. My last thought on that is that Abraham gets the ball bat beating. I think that would be better for him than the random crap that happened to him in the comic. Could have just told me "no comment". XD Nothing was spoiled for you. All I did was tell you Kirkman's take on the comic/show. Having said that; in the spirit of a character like Eugene, everything will make sense as far as he's concerned down the road.

AMC has revealed via press release that the season five premiere of "The Walking Dead" reached 17.3 million viewers -- 11 million in the coveted 18-49 demographic -- beating everything else in its slot, including Sunday Night Football. "The Walking Dead" beat Sunday Night Football by 2.5 million viewers in the 18-49 demo.

Robert Kirkman's denying that it's Negan. Agreed on the other 4 things, though! That's what I was thinking. In the case of Tyreese, about damn time!

Alright a really solid start to the season.
My main concern at the end of Season 4 was that most of The first half of this season was going to be spent in Terminus, Im glad this is not the case and they got through it really quick.
Carol continues to be just an awesome character, I sang her praises last season but considering how far she has come since the show began, I think she is the one character I will genuinely be saddened by should they kill her off.
I actually really like the current group and will be sad to see any of them get killed off in all honesty
A very action packed start and I look forward to seeing where they go from here
Look forward to next weeks episode.

Here are the current members of the Grimes Gang:
Rick, Carl, Daryl, Glenn, Maggie, Carol, Michonne, Tyreese, Sasha, Bob, Abraham, Eugene, Rosita, Tara and Judith. And somewhere, Beth is still alive.
I'm aware of the "No one's safe" rule. That said, as far as deaths are concerned, this is how I see everyone. Note that the graphic novel plays a role in some of this.
Most expendable: Bob, Sasha, Tara
Could die for shock value: Carol, Tyreese
Could die, but won't: Daryl
Deaths depend on specific plot points: Rick, Glenn, Beth, Abraham
Won't die: Carl, Maggie, Michonne, Judith, Eugene, Rosita

Beth dies due to her present situation.
Tyreese and Tara will likely meet their fates before the end of season 5 but I'm not sure how.
If we go by the comics, Glenn and Abraham will still be around for the safe zone, Morgan as well.

Could someone elaborate on the TAINTED MEAT! thing. Is it from the comics? {Spoiler}The cannibals were going to eat Dale (who was still alive at this point), but he'd been bitten.

The actor is getting older all the time; far older than he should be on the show. He started off on the show at been what, 7 years old? About 2 years of time have passed in the show yet he's now looking 14-15? I think he'll need killing off because it'll start looking silly with his age progression. Plus *comic spoilers* {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Judith is killed in the comics and looking after Carl; his last child becomes a major part of Rick's motivation as well as a belief of failing to protect his daughter.
I could see Carl taking Judith's place as the death.

I could see Carl taking Judith's place as the death. I never thought of it that way with Carl, but that does make a lot of sense. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Perhaps if they go with Douglas Monroe accidentally shooting him, rather than some how escaping death, Carl actually does bite it.

I'm 99% certain Carol could defeat the predator at this point.
She is that bad ass.

I'd be rejigging quite a but after that but just out of interest, what makes you think Rosita is so indispensable? I'd be lumping her in the first group of being low on the totem pole.

I only read up to the prison in the graphic novel, but is Carol basically replacing Andrea now since their fates are obviously very different in both universes?

Rosita could go either way. I just kept her alive because of her graphic novel counterpart. In other words, I believe she sticks around and is relevant. Of course, I'm not fully caught up on the graphic novel and may be wrong.

As far as Carol goes, she's a completely different character from her comic counterpart. Her comic counterpart never overcame being the battered housewife and went crazy. Carol may as well be like Daryl in terms of not being written for the show and being a complete wild card. With that said, Carol isn't taking over Andrea's role in my opinion. A lot of Andrea's character traits and some of her stories appear to be going to Sasha. Which is the main reason I consider {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Bob to be tainted meat.

Of course, I'm not fully caught up on the graphic novel and may be wrong. I'm up to Vol 21 of the comic, so for the sake of not spoiling anything, I'm not gonna reveal if she's dead or not. But I will say that with all the balls that need juggling in the main story Rosita seems/seemed to be just sort of a named periphery character. Still, saying that, it wouldn't be the first time the show takes a minor character and expands their role beyond the scope of their comic counterpart.

I sort of wished they would have gone for one more episode and explored that alter looking room and it's meaning. Maybe they'll flashback in future episodes to explain it.
When Carol and Mary went at it, I almost felt like yelling "old lady fight!" XD Seriously, Carol tore that place apart almost single handily. I liked how she exited through the zombies when leaving Mary to die.

I think that room was just basically a memorial room for the "good" people that were part of the original group that are no longer around due to them letting in the asshole rapists and murderers. With all the names written on the ground and things like "We First Always" and "Never Again" written on the walls, at least that's what I looked at it as. Also serving as a reminder for those that were left about the whole "you're the butcher or you're the cattle" thought process they were going with now.
