He's a heel. When he turns babyface, he brings it back.

Remember when they told Armando Alejandro Estrada to stop doing his whole "My Name is ARMANDO, ALEJANDRO, ESSSSSSSSSTRRRRRRRRRRRADA!" thing? Or when they took Brodus Clay off TV because he was getting too over with his wacky dancing babyface gimmick?
Those sure worked out, didn't they?
I can kind of see the logic behind this decision in that they want Cesaro to stay heel, but if something is getting over and working, why take it away? It's basically punishing the guy for daring to get something over. Which is entirely counterproductive if you ask me. It's not like it's hijacking the show or anything.
I could understand it if he at least still teased it, but to my knowledge he hasn't even done that in months. At least that would get heat from the fans. Just having him not do it is just pointless.

WWE really has no idea how to manage momentum these days, it doesn't just effect Cesaro but every wrestler and story they try to tell. They used to be pretty good at building things up to a peak and then giving us the fight/moment/turn/whatever we've been waiting for but now they either blow their load too early or drag things out so long people stop caring. Yeah, Cesaro's a weird conundrum for me on that front. Personally, I really only ever liked him as part of the Real Americans and he just doesn't work for me as a solo star (even just individual singles matches, I really can't think of one I liked that much), but at the same time, the way they've completely wasted him at every turn, blew the chance for him to be a big face, and neutered his moveset is a prime example of how this company is self-defeating and entirely built upon whatever Vince's whims of the day are. Even if I don't like him, clearly a lot of people do and were hot for him and they completely blew it for absolutely no reason. Well done for putting personal bias aside. Er...I can't find a way of saying that that doesn't sound sarcastic but I mean it genuinely.

Makes sense.
Can't let those stupid smarks in the WWE Universe, at the live shows and at RAW decide who is popular. That's Vince's job.

He's a heel. When he turns babyface, he brings it back. He's a forced heel. People want to cheer him. In instances like this, WWE should move with fan opinions rather than their own preferred booking.

imagine if in 1998 they told The Rock to stop doing the eyebrow and the elbow and the catchphrases because "he's a heel" and it was getting too over with the fans. or told Austin in 97 to stop swearing and using the middle finger.

Of course, he's a heel. They want him getting heat so they took that out of his moves.
Sure he was getting majorly over as a face too but it makes sense since they want him as a heel. He should be face but that's the wwe for ya.

Can't let those stupid shareholders tell him how he should be running his business! Can't let those stupid advertisers tell him what he should have on his show! Can't let those those stupid writers have any input on his shows! Vince just seems like one of those types who always wants to do things his way, critics be damned. The only way he'll change his mind is if his hand is forced, as it was during the Attitude Era or with Rey Mysterio or Daniel Bryan. And even then he'll never fully be behind them.

Step 1.) Make the best manger around his mouthpiece, but have said manager spend all his promo time talking about Brock Lesnar. Step 2.) Nickname Cesaro the "King of Swing" and base all his merchandise around that. IMMEDIATELY make him stop using the move. Step 3.) Job that sumbitch out. Step 4.) Profit? Yeah, that's a pretty sufficient way to kill all of a guy's heat and momentum. just a couple months ago Cesaro was beating Sheamus. Not a lot of people do that That's more because Sheamus has been demoted and is no longer Cena-lite. He just lost clean to the Miz for f*** sake.

This kind of thing would make more sense if it didn't potentially ruin people's entire careers.
Asking a performer to perform a certain way because it fits the story or the character, fine. Then casting that performer aside because they weren't successful... not fine.

So, the f*** was even the point of the "King of Swing" moniker then? He's a pansexual?

I still don't understand why after Wrestlemania and the performance he put on and how the crowd loves him they decided to make him a heel. I know it gets said a lot but I saw him as being the next top guy. Daniel Bryan had JUST won the title, they didn't know he was going out for months so soon. The Shield was hot and a split was inevitable, they'd just delayed Reigns push, and they still had Cena they didn't need the next top guy at the time. Eh, it's like starting pitching in baseball; you can NEVER have too much.

If this is true, which... who knows... but if it is, it's kinda smart. He can tease the swing in big matches, then not do it, getting heat. Then when the face turn comes BOOM. Swing away! He should've turned face on the Raw after Mania, not join Heyman, especially in retrospect.

But he joined up with Heyman who preached his virtues but didn't get him to the next level. He became a guy who spot could been filled by anyone else on the roster.

Imagine how different the landscape would have been if Austin 3:16 had to be stopped because it was getting "too over"

Yep, he joined Ryback & Axel as failed Heyman guys.

Maybe they are saving it for when he swings Brock? The visual of him swinging Brock in the middle of the ring would be awesome.
Of course that would have made a bit more sense had Cesaro stayed with Heyman and turned on him..

Imagine how different the landscape would have been if Austin 3:16 had to be stopped because it was getting "too over" Not when he was becoming WWF's golden goose when that phrase was uttered. He was like Roman Reigns during that time: protected and treated like a big deal.
