I can't post as I'm via phone, but by the looks of it him and his other co star basically got in a fight before the new season started, and now voila, Parsons doesn't want to return.
I've wanted to do this just once...Go for It In the Comments!
Twas a hoax, but feel free to go for it in the comments. Actually, I thought it was "Bo" for it in the comments. Either way, go ahead and discuss Big Bang Theory, but keep it civil.

I bet there'd be something in that damn roommate agreement that would make the other guy have to quit.

If that's true, then the show is over. He's the money maker for the show. No Sheldon Cooper, no Big Bang Theory.

Apparently the news is fake and the origin is coming from The Empire a onion like site. But his contract expires end of this season apparently

You know, I never understood all the BBT hate. It's certainly not the greatest show on Earth, but I never thought it was the worst. I can catch an occasional episode here and there and enjoy it well enough. I have no interest in watching it religiously, but it's at least a good, random time killer.

It's Empire News reporting this. Remember, folks: Empire News is The Onion with 100% less funny and 100% more lies and clickbait. They are the modern equivalent of the tabloids- never believe a single thing they report.

Even if it hadn't been, there's virtually no way that'd happen for the simple fact that there's no one that wouldn't get the axe to appease Parsons. He's their bread and butter.

It makes all people who are interested in science, mathematics, comic books, science fiction, toy collecting etcetera as anti social freaks who can't relate to other humans. 2. Sheldon is horribly unlikeable and the character is written in such a way where he is never shown any growth. 3. Sheldon displays vaguely autistic like anti-social behaviors and they are written as jokes instead of as a serious matter. Ha it's funny because he can't read social ques and said something in appropriate! That's not funny, that's mocking people that really have those issues to play it for laughs.

Add in that all humour is basically "laugh at the freaks! Haha!" (not just the scenes where Sheldon is mocked for his behaviour as you mentioned) where the laughter cues are meant to make you side with the least geek like character in any given scene. It's basically self hating geek humour, only just under meme humour in the worlds worst humour rankings.

Eh, even as a huge nerd, I can enjoy Big Bang Theory. It's not great, but I'll get a chuckle from it every now and then.

I hear what you're saying. But personally, I can't remember the last time I took any TV show as gospel for real life. Think I realized in high school while watching 90210 that anything on television should never be taken seriously. Even when it comes to books or music, I don't go looking for hidden agendas or messages. I just take things for what they are on the surface and I either enjoy them or I don't. And if I don't, then I find other things to keep me occupied.

But I find most of the characters very unlikeable and I find the portrayal of geek culture to be so limiting that after a few episodes I find it boring.

On a postive not Jim Parsons is very talented. The fact that he makes Sheldon almost, almost tolerable is amazing. Plus he's done some really great physical comedy on the show. Also it says "balls" on your face.

Although this is false, it is worth mentioning that production on the new season is suppose to start at the end of this month but none of the main cast has signed new deals yet because they want a pay increase.
Given the ratings and pay for actors in similar hit shows, they should get a raise. Well, no actor should be paid a million dollars per episode but if Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer can get in then I don't see why TBBT cast can't.
Oh and I don't like the show very much. Just to clear that up.
