f***, I wish the big bossman was still alive to give tna a proper eulogy With deepest regrets, and pain in my head I'm sorry to hear your promotion is dead. Your storylines sucked; they made everyone wince. Soon you'll be bought out for pennies by Vince. But if I had an owner as incompetent as you I'd wish for low ratings so my fed could die too. So hold your head high, get your lives back on track. 'Cause TNA's dead and it ain't ever coming back!

Haha, so the purpose of putting dixie through a table was to get her out of tv forever but now she's gonna tape an interview with Mike Tenay, it's gonna be so cheesy seeing her with a full on body cast...

I dunno why, but the visual of Dixie in a stabilization halo like Gary Wolfe in ECW cracks me up to no end.

And have Shane Douglas push her to the ground just because...allegedly people liked Pitbull 1 so much that after Shane did that, they riot.

It's so TNA that the guy that put her through the table is gone and Dixie is still on TV. I've already forgotten the spoilers for the next couple weeks, but after Bully's final match and the winner is announced the camera should slowly pull into a shot of bully ray. The shot continues until Bully Ray's face fills the television screen. The camera stops on Bully's sweating, balding face and Dixie's voice says "I must go, my people need me". We then find out Bully Ray died on the way back to his home planet.

It's funny, in 2006 they grabbed one of Vince's top stars from under him, they even ran the story on Byte This, Vince seemed legitimate piss and a little concerned with TNA becoming a competitor. Kurt didn't got fired, he jumped giving tna instant credibility. Everyone thought that tna was gonna grow and compete with Vince. 8 years later Vince does a sell out ppv with celebrities attending and TNA has Gunner...f*** Russo, f*** Hogan, f*** Bischoff, f*** Gaburick, f*** Dixie.

Kurt had been given his release. They didn't fire him, but it was pretty close.

My understanding was that he quit, even if it was WWECW they were still using him, he wanted time off but got pissed that Vince told him that an Olympic gold medal doesn't even gets him a cup of cofee or something. Kurt admits that he was a wreck back then, pretty ironic lol

So, his solution would be to immediately go to TNA and do Japan shows? That'd be dumb even by Kurt standards. From what I understand, it was basically the opposite, that the company was concerned for Kurt's wellbeing, and Kurt wanted to wrestle more and be more heavily featured.

That was what I heard too, anyway. That there was concern about Kurt and they were looking to reign in the work and matches he was doing, or at worst even considering an ordered rehab stint.
Kurt wanted to keep on going 100%, which looking at his career and attitude both before and after seems very believable, and so jumped ship instead.
No argument that he was a major signing for TNA, though. That period over about a year, there, where they had Christian, Sting (full time) and Kurt all joining and with the Spike contract seemed the start of something big for the company. Didn't work out in the end for various reasons, but there was still that vibe. Didn't get it again until the early Hogan/Bisch era, that "anything can happen and anyone can join" thing, although again things didn't turn out that way in the end.

He didn't immediately go and wrestle. He knew TNA wanted him so Angle left in early Aug. He debut in TNA in Oct. He was out of action for 3 months by the debut and was about 3 and a half months before he had his first match. He first match in Japan was after his debut which again TNA was bi weekly in tapping at the time. Plus wrestling a couple matches in japan is nothing like wrestling 4 times a week in the WWE.

But on JR's podcast recently, he confirmed that it was WWE thinking he had a problem, and he felt he didn't. They wanted him to get treatment, he didn't want to go. I really recommend the interview, Kurt seems like he's in a really good place with his sobriety, and it was a far cry from the insane interviews he was giving for a few years there

If anyone deserves to leave TNA's sinking ship with his head held up high is Kurt, he gave everything to them. Booker was another signing I was excited for, but it became clear that he didn't wanted to be there, his feud with Roode sucked, at least we got to see Black Snow.

I pray that some Miracle happens and TNA either finds another network or tries to continue without TV.
I like the idea of having an alternative televised promotion to WWE, no matter how bad it is.
Plus WWE is finally attempting to push new talents, so I don't like the idea of Angle, Jeff Hardy and the like going back to WWE and getting that demigod nostalgia push over everyone. If TNA folds WWE might end up falling back into that trap even further.

See, I've always heard that latter story, or something very similar to it: Kurt in 2006 was just getting so intense (for whatever reason), working thru injuries and such (perhaps something drug related too, can't recall), and finally at some point WWE became concerned by all this and wanted him to slow down and maybe take some time off. He disagreed. Things apparently got heated behind the scenes. And then suddenly, he got his release. His release was a shock, as he was still being booked in matches on WWECW TV (though nothing top tier), but in the days that followed it wasn't really a surprise considering what his demeanor was being reported as at the time.
