Basically, if you've played wrestling games and made up your own wrestler, let's say they get signed by WWE, and then they got a major league push. Do you think crowds would take to them/boo them properly, or would they get X-Pac heat?
My guy (or Mary Sue, I'll be honest) is a face named Oliver Dark. Same moral code as Bret and has a Cena like rapport with kids, but he's more about testosterone. His promos are kinda like Mark Henry or Bam Bam Bigelow's, not really jokey or catchphrasey, more of a thug attitude. Handsome guy in late 20's with an unusually gravely voice (throat injury during HS football). Picture Mr. T if he was pretty.
Nickname is "Ogre", which is odd since he's like 6'0 and 224 (unusually strong, though). Wears long tights, pads, boots, "Dark Dojo" shirt or something (think King's TAPOUT look in Tekken 6). Wears a monster mask during entrances, throws it to crowd. Well rounded enough in the ring, finishes with a top rope splash or cobra clutch.
I like to imagine he'd at least avoid getting Sheamus'ed by major smark cities, but he's not the most complex character. Then again, who is?

Shawn Drake-The god of my fictional fed. Imagine CM Punk, only more MMA and with dreadlocks. Basically ran shit and held the title until he left to become Jacob Cass. He'd be kinda well liked, but his douchey attitude would rub people the wrong way. Big Daddy Smalls-The same as Big Daddy V but with a different name. Would do good for like a month then job to Cena and get a dancing gimmick. WWA-W***** With Attitude. A whiter, more obnoxious Cryme Time. Would run the tag division. Chris Elton-Imagine Kevin Hart crossed with D'angelo Dinero. He'd be a solid upper Midcarder. Dez Tatum-Basically a more over Michael Tarver. The Savage to Drake's Hogan. A bad dude. He'd do alright. Joseph Steele-One of the generic caws on SVR09. In the mold of a Bobby Lashley. A badass white meat babyface. He might get over a bit, but the fans would crap all over him as the top guy. Justin Sayne-A druggier Jeff Hardy. Would fail wellness after like a month. "The Masshole" Pat Murphy-A Bostinian Brooklyn Brawler. Would job so much. Joe Cool-Johnny Bravo meets the Fonz meets Bo Dallas. Would be a JTTS or released. Chaz Owens-The Miz (reality era) with douchiness turned to 11. Would get X-PAC heat. SilentSwagger-Oh, man. This guy was a favorite. He wasn't even a member of my imaginary fed, just a guy I'd make and play with online, and in the fed he was the guy who Drake beat to become top dog. (him and my other caw Wolv3rine) He looked like an extremely ripped Lil Wayne, was covered in tats, wore Randy Savage glasses, dressed like "Uncle Sam" Apollo Creed (including the top hat while wrestling) and had the moveset of a PAC or 1996 Rey Mysterio. Would be so over its not funny. Wolv3rine-Another online CAW, in the fed I'd say that he ran the fed, more or less, had a legendary feud with SilentSwagger, and left shortly after losing to Drake. I had like a 20 man stable as his entourage. He was white, with cornrows, LOD face paint (hawk style), sweatpants, tattoos, and an AJ Styles inspired jacket. His moveset was basically other people's finishers, except for a choke slam back breaker into angels wings combo that he passed on to Drake. See SilentSwagger. Man, just writing this makes me miss just making caws and not worrying about anything, just coming up with all this backstory. I miss being a kid

My legion of characters would immediately stand out, mostly for their capitalized names.

I for one believe that The Nudertaker, Yoshi Tatsu, and Coldback would start a new boom period

My created character is just a huge ripoff of Prince Devitt and Kazuchika Okada. So yes. Yes he would.

My guy would've been in the oddities. His name was Weirdo Carl, I made him on No Mercy so he was 7'5" but had a woman's walk cycle and did a shooting star press. His outfit made absolutely no sense but was an eye-f***ing mix of every colour of the rainbow. He'd have done well as a Golga-type but I doubt he'd have evolved beyond that. He'd be one of the poor twats in the 99 Rumble.

Abraham "Hot Rod" Lincoln, with his stove pipe hat, Brock Samson physique and Chippendales-inspired ring attire would usher in a new boom period when he strikes jabronis down with the Emancipator.

Probably not. The guy I'm using in DOR is essentially a ginger machine (was going for a Katsuyori Shibata meets Jack Gallacher [English grappler] type deal but moveset wouldn't go for it). Only cares about the wrestling and attempts to break arms all the time with a Fujiwara Armbar.

Yes. A wrestler called "Jinx" who has the mysterious power to make those around him have bad luck. Bad for his opponents, but also for his tag team partners.

No way, I am terrible at making up my own CAWs. I had this one in SvR 09 called "The Professor" and he was just this dude in a blue singlet, short brown hair, sort of fuzzy beard, who wrestled a power/technical style. He was boring as shit.

My CAW was basically a mix of Wade Barrett and Regal, so he'd likely get to be a pretty high up heel at least.

The only CAW I really remember was called Erasmus. I made him as tall as possible, gave him the biggest torso, thighs, feet, and hands possible, but the scrawniest waist, arms, and legs. He was covered in a black bodysuit, wore a red harness on his chest, had the biker Taker "red devil" logo on his back, had a red knee pad on one leg and a white skull on the other, and I gave him a red colored skull head with a gas mask over it and hooks in place of hands. He did a combo of Triple H and Kane's moves. He also did Triple H's entrance so it would look like he was blowing water out of the gas mask. My idea was that he was some sort of cyborg or mutant with a disfigured face and the gas mask was the only way he could breath. I even imagined there would be a special locker room set aside for him that would be sealed off and have some special chemical pumped in the air so he could take the mask off and breath.
I remember all this mainly because of how hilarious it was playing in storyline more and watching Trish Stratus seducing this thing.

The one CAW I make in every single Wrestling Game is named Tank. He's a 7ft monster (I usually max out every single physical attribute then scale it back for realism sake). He could get over easily as he's what Big Show would be if he stayed in shape.

My CAW is basically just myself, albiet with a cool moveset. I might be over in the same way Spike Dudley was I guess.

JEG2325 - he was a 7 foot monster with a gas mask and cammo clothes, basically his gimmick is that he is a test experiment for the government thus for the code name he has...I see him getting over
Corey Matlock - he is a scrawny guy with a high flying moveset and submissions, he is managed by his uncle Matlock who when he loses a match, Matlock pulls out a clause that demands the match get re-started until Corey wins....i see Matlock getting over but Corey getting X-Pac heat...i mean how can you boo Andy Griffith?
